Discuss Lennon - we may need to move out players, before signing anyone. in the Transfer Rumours area at TalkCeltic.net.
Can we still sign players from England given their window is closed?
Seen a lot of twelve players leaving and only bringing in three... * load of pish. Just look at the list of those who left. They never got a game except Tierney, Lustig, Benkovic and Boyata.
We need another three more players minimum. Left back and right back, obviously. The other probably should be a defensive mid and if I was being gready I'd like another centre back.
The squad still has some deadwood. We need to get rid of Morgan, Hendry, Ralston, Kouassi and Hayes. I think Kouassi is the only one who potentially has a future here so I'd loan him out but the rest can go.
Benkovic, Burke, KT, Lustig, Boyata, Izzy and Toljan all played plenty. Allan, Compper, Mulumbu and Gamboa were all the definition of ‘deadwood’ that needed shifted.
We’ve shifted out plenty and despite the likes of Hendry and Ralston not being good enough and needing shifted they’re actually crucial squad members until we bring in better so I’m unsure who he’s talking about when he’s saying more has to go before we can bring in others.
Hayes is a good squad member, he clearly likes Morgan so Kouassi is the only one you could say needs shifted.
Squad is bloated in certain areas imo
GK: Bain, Gordon and Hazard - that’s fine.
RB: Elhamed and Ralston - need RB
LB: Bolingoli and Miller - need LB
CB: jullien, Ajer a
not a load of pish
Burke, weah, toljan played.
Even allowing for 7 leaving to replace them with 3 is shocking at this stage of qualification
We really need to get some bodies in after the cluj game on tuesday, there's a creeping feeling that this window could be almost as bad as the last.
Don't get me wrong, i 100% believe we'll get players in no matter what, but if we crash out the champions league again due to not preparing properly i think it'll be worse than last year.
Can only remember a handful of games where Weah, Burke or Toljan featured after Lennon came in.
I'd want rid of Hendry and Ralston and bring in two replacements who will contribute more than they will throughout the season, like I said above.
I agree that Hayes is favoured due to his versatility. Morgan seems to be favoured but that side is MJ and Sinclair's to fight over imo. Both are far superior to Morgan. I reckon both will show Lennon by January that Morgan just won't cut it here unless Lennon views him as a replacement to Sinclair, which would be plain wrong.
Burke and Toljan both played half a dozen times each under Lenny, never mentioned Weah?
I agree Hendry and Ralston need to go but whilst no replacements are in, they’re crucial just now. Both can play right back. So that flies in the face of what Lenny is saying.
I know you didn't, he just came to my mind when I was thinking about those loanees playing.
Maybe old age or tiredness but I can't remember those players we had on loan getting much of a look in as they did under Rodgers.
Yep, why we have no replacements, we can't let them go, unfortunately.
We always needed two right backs since Lustig and Toljan were shown the door. We've got enough to cover Burke's loss.
I do agree though that we don't need to make room for players like you said. We've cleared quite a big chunk of the deck.
Burke was horrendous under Lenny..
Started at Tynecastle and got the assist but did fuckall after..
Was absolutely abysmal at St Mirren and ballooned over the bar from 2 yard's. Came on as a sub if I remember right at home to Livi and missed an open goal with the keeper on the deck. Then got another chance at the Camp Newco.....no wonder he was sick of the sight of him
Weah he publicly said didn't train well enough..
Toljan had zero oomph the whole time he was here he was in his shell and it showed. Better player than he wanted to be here. Just wanted out straight away..
I did see another interview where they asked him about another 5 and he said no not 5 as that was sort of a joke and taken out of context.
i think theres a need for a top quality GK bain has been good but ithink wee need better GK espiecially for europe , but full backs are a real concern for me 2 full backs a GK and a def mid its about time we went and flexed the guns the bisciut tin is overflowing with dosh now give us back a wee bit for aww the * years wee spent being patient spending buttons and selling on our best players
The presser today was rather positive.. Lenny saying we want quality, and that the club are prepared to use some of the KT fee to bring in that quality..
Also when he said player's going out it wasn't first teamers...which people seem to think..
I expect to hear tomorrow night post match, if we win...either who, or what we're bringing in at the end of the week..
Promising but we've got to deliver. Heard the quality line so often!
Just have a feeling our business regarding incomings is done unless we sell someone.
Nothing to do with shortfalls or anything like that we are clearly stock piling cash for something else.
Would be so disgusting if true but actually wouldn't surprise me.
No chance mate.
I expect two, in an attempt to paper over the cracks and keep the happy clappers from wakening up.
Taylor as a left back, then a loaned centre back from South.
Neither is anything to shout about. But come the end of the window the board will use it as 4 first team signings and a loan deal - boli, Julien, elhamed, Taylor, loanee. And 2 highly sought after prospects. While keeping the core of our squad together.
^ is the lines they will use. But really it's one player who looks okay at the start of the season....and * that wasn't scouted at all.
