Which is astonishing! We have been terrible at them for years, but you know maybe it's more down to how we play, we don't float a lot of balls into the box, so probably something we are not practiced in.

If I remember correctly this was 2015 season and he missed a sitter instead of squaring it, and i said something like “* should square it what a selfish *”. Standby my feelings in that moment way back when.

He had a shot at goal and he hit the post and you called him a * * in the match thread.....i remember it because i had never seen that from a fan towards a player wearing our shirt before or since.

Can’t see any reason why anyone would want him to go. We would be worse off without him imho....

So injury prone man, unreliable as *!

Wonder if he is getting a significant wage rise with this new contract, shouldn't be IMO.

Put it this way,if he stays clear of injuries this season he'll outscore anyone in the SPL
I expect us to sign a CF in January though..

CELTIC are delighted to announce that the club have secured the services of Leigh Griffiths for a further four seasons after the striker signed a new contract today (September 14).

Griffiths put pen to paper on a new contract at Celtic Park this morning which will ensure the century Bhoy will remain in the Hoops until at least the summer of 2022.

In an exclusive interview with Celtic TV, Griffiths spoke for the first time about his new deal.

“I’m over the moon,” he said. “It’s been a long time coming, talks have been ongoing for a while and I’m glad to get it over the line.

“The main aim is to be here for as long as I can, and for Celtic to have shown that faith in me to sign me for another four years makes me ecstatic.

“From the moment I walked in the door here, this is where I wanted to be for the rest of my life. I’ve been here for three-and-a-half years already and to sign another four-year deal is great. I can’t wait for the future.

“Celtic is a great club and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. I had the opportunity to move but I wanted to stay and fight for my place. I’ve been rewarded with another deal and knowing that I’m going to be here for another four years is great.”

The 28-year-old recently wrote himself into the Celtic history books when he scored his 100th goal in the Hoops during Celtic’s 3-0 win over FK Suduva two weeks ago which helped secure Celtic’s place in the group stages of the Europa League.

John Hartson was the last Celt to reach the 100-goal mark back in 2005, but Griffiths insisted he was not dwelling on his achievement and was instead focused on try to bring more success to the club.

“I’m here for the 10-in-a-row bid, but my main focus now is trying to get in the team and stay as fit as possible,” said the Scotland international. “I’ve hit the 100 now and I want to try and continue that and aim for greater heights.

“There’s been a lot of high and some lows, but more highs than lows. Hopefully there’s more highs to come.

“The Invincible season and the Double Treble season were some very good highlights and hopefully in the coming years there’s more to come.”

Also secures employment for four more years for two fat * to guard the posts at their kip.
And Leigh, just accept the baldness pal, give up the fight.

Other than tea cakes and child support what else is he going to be spending the money from his bumper new deal on?

He’s been unlucky with injury and the fact we’ve had outstanding options up front over the past few years, while playing with one striker usually.

Great news that he’s signed a long term deal though. He’s a very handy player.

Great news, he's a good forward who i think would excel in a 2 up top formation with Eddy
