Terrible today. Lack of fitness or not, he was atrocious.

For a player not known for his ability in the air, i thought he done okay and won his share of balls. He had little to no support. I remember him killing a high ball with one touch and playing it to a team mate only for him to lose it.

He had one cleared off the line and one off his weak foot saved by the keeper.
I dont think anyone offered more by way of a goal threat.

Annoys me when there’s a pass for an easier route to goal and he doesn’t pass. He’s supposed to be a teammate.

Thought it was a strange call taking him off. Would have put on edouard alongside him and went 2 up top.

Wasn’t great today, but was unlucky not to score.

Griff is the type of player who needs constant game time,I'm sure he would be a prolific scorer in the league given a chance.

Even these days I think if he went back to Hibs and played every week he would score at least 25 for them.

LG: “The last two years we have qualified against teams of a good stature. This is no different. We’ll look to come here and get a positive result.

LG: “You could say they have the advantage, especially with the away goal but we, as a team, are more than capable of scoring an away goal ourselves.”

LG: “Last week we proved that, even under the circumstances with the game at 1-1, we were still pushing for the second goal.

LG: “Given the quality of the squad we have, we are more than capable of scoring goals.

LG: “These ties are never easy. You’ve seen that in previous years when we’ve tried to qualify and didn’t.

LG: “There’s pressure every game when you play for this club. There’s always pressure to get the result from myself, from the manager and from the fans.”

LG: “We’re under no illusion that it’s always difficult at the start of the season but we’ve shown over the last couple of years that we can qualify under that pressure. Tomorrow night will be no different and we’re confident we can get the result.”

LEIGH GRIFFITHS is the darling of the Tartan Army.

The Scotland idol’s two free-kicks against England are etched in Hampden folklore forever.

But Alex McLeish has warned past glories will count for nothing when he picks his team to face Albania on September 10.

Griffiths faces a battle to get a game for Celtic ahead of French pair Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.

And Big Eck admits Scotland’s talisman could be benched for the Nations League opener at Hampden if that doesn’t change.

He said: “It would be very difficult to pick players when they are not playing because they lose match fitness.

“It would be difficult for Leigh to keep his level if he’s not playing much and keeping his match fitness.

“That’s a concern, but the challenge is for Leigh to bang in the goals.

“We want him at top fitness because when he came into the team in the last qualifying campaign he was on fire.

“Brendan Rodgers had to rouse him to get to a level in the beginning. Gordon Strachan wasn’t liking Leigh’s level until Brendan did a wee bit of work on him. Then Gordon couldn’t leave him out.

“Leigh is better when he plays. He needs to be playing, keeping sharp and scoring goals. He had a couple of chances against Hearts, but we want him to play to the same level every week.

“We hope Griffiths can be ready. At the moment he looks in good condition.”

McLeish revealed he will meet Rodgers for a chat this week — but he won’t put pressure on the Celtic boss to play Griff.

Instead, he will focus his efforts on finding an alternative system should the Hoops man not be up to speed.

He said: “There is no way I can tell managers how to run their teams.

“I will see Brendan at the end of this week anyway to have a chat.

“Maybe I’ve got to look for a different dynamic if I don’t get a Griffiths or Jordan Rhodes or someone else who is scoring goals.

“The French world champions had a centre-forward who didn’t score a goal in the tournament.

“We have to find goals regardless of whether it’s the centre-forward or coming in from wide areas. We know that’s where we’re short.

“I can’t dig someone out of fresh air, but we are keeping an eye on every centre-forward.

“I also believe there are other players in the team who can get goals, whether it’s through a set-piece or wide men coming in or from midfielders.

“But we’re obviously looking for this talisman up front.”

Jakey McLeish doing his bit for the cause trying to unsettle Griff. Leave him out then ya balloon and pick Jason Cummings instead. See how that goes for ya.

    He has been playing ginger.

He has had a poor start, but he will score goals for us and a lot of them.

He's the only player in our team that can actually take a corner though
