And with a goal against St.Mirren people will act like that vindicates the signing.

For me, he's not an improvement on what we already have, and has shown constantly throughout his career that he's a wee scumbag. Why the * are we signing him? Seriously like. Can we seriously get no one better, or even at his level, that isn't the * he is? * *.

Someone who is a focal point upfront, someone who starts and finishes off moves, someone who troubles defenses at the very highest level. A clever footballer with good link up play, who can hold the ball up well with a clever footballing brain to make space for others and who will seize any chance that comes his way.

If I just wanted goals I'd sign Billy McKay.

The manager sees Griffiths as more than just a goalscorer. We'll have to trust that he knows a player when he sees one.

I know. Pukki, Stokes and now Griffiths all seem to be 'second strikers'. The type that play off someone else.

Hopefully he's grown out of some of the daft * he's done in the past and he should do well here.

He gets pushed up later in the game. He plays as an attacking midfielder with a free role.

Most of the season. Especially in this run of 12 goals in 11 games.

Do you feel he is that player? Do you think he will trouble the very best defences around Europe?

So a young lad who is only 23 and made some mistakes in life is condemned for the rest of his life....???
People change given the chance and if he does not mend his ways i am sure lennon will get rid of the guy.
He would not be the first guy that celtic had a big affect of their life.

Not condemned for the rest of the life. Condemned right now due to him doing those 'mistakes' not all that long ago.

I don't think we have the finances to buy a player who will trouble the very best defences in Europe.

He'll certainly trouble them just as much, if not more, than Stokes & Pukki have. One thing I do believe is that had he been playing in that game against Milan where we did everything but score, he would have bagged at least one.

Aye, 23 is a baby. He's a grown man, stop dismissing everything he's done as being 'only young'. The point I keep making is IS THIS IT? Could we seriously not find and attract a better player and person than Leigh Griffiths? Why the * are we fixated on him? All the money poured into our scouting, the pool of players from around the world available, the wages and European football we can offer every year, and it's all came down to Leigh Griffiths? That's it?

    Welcome Leigh! :shamrock:

I think he will do very well for us. Can take a mean free kick as well.

That's bollocks, we signed Hooper who done it for very little. * we signed Henrik Larsson for £650k! It's not about the price! It's about properly scouting players that have the ability to do so, *, look at Samaras!

That Milan game we did everything but set up a chance btw.

I find it hilarious that so many people are complaining about this when we spent more money on players like Balde and Pukki who both had scoring records that were mediocre and very poor in Pukki's case. Griffiths isn't the answer to our problems but he's not as awful as people are making him seem.

Also find it hilarious how people were * * themselves over maybe signing Johnny Russell when Griffiths had a much better record in a much worse team.

Let's judge him on what he does while at Celtic, the past is the past.
It's up to him now how he conducts himself.
The kind of behaviour he displayed in the past won't be tolerated here.

Don't let him near the freekicks. Did you see Virgil's at the weekend? Why would we possibly be letting somebody else take them after that?

Hardly an inspiring signing, Scotland is exactly blessed with top class strikers yet he is probably 4th or 5th choice at best for them.

We don't need more SPL sorry Scottish Premiership standard players, unless this means moving at least 2 or 3 on from what we have. Griffiths, Stokes, Bangura, Watt, Balde, Pukki, Fridjonsson and Atajic.

Having said that he will still have my full support, hopefully Lennon and the coaches can improve himand still plan on another striker in the summer.
