I disagree. I believe the exact opposite, he HAS to start. There is no one else in our team capable of taking a corner or a dangerous free kick. That alone would be a reason for him to be the first name on the team sheet.

The free kick and corner conversion rates are quite low to justify a start for that reason alone, if corners are a big issue this is something very basic that can be worked on.

Again just my opinion, I think he is better suited coming on later with a bit of fire.

 

If such a basic thing why hasn't it been sorted. The goal against Hamilton came crom a griff corner, as soon as he came on Lustig almost scored from his corner and he scored a free kick against Suduva. Rangers free kick wasn't far off

 

That is fundamentally what is wrong, perhaps we don't work much on corners, who knows.

 

Suduva as well. If it wasn't for that free kick and we went to the half time break at 0-0 things would have been much harder.

Also the issue is, even if you only score from a corner or free kick 5% of the time or whatever, it forces the opponent team to have one more thing to worry about.

Have to agree, corners and free kicks from other players in our side just don't look dangerous. He is quality at a dead ball situation and pushes massive pressure on the defence. As much as I like Ntcham, I have no idea why he takes free kicks.

Was taken off at the half against Belgium. About 40 minutes in he wemt down clutching his calf... don’t shoot the messenger if you didn’t watch the game already.

Hoping that he was taken off for rest in preparation for Albania.

Leigh Griffiths should be "okay" to face opening Nations League opponents Albania, says Scotland manager Alex McLeish.

Griffiths, 28, came off at half-time of Friday's 4-0 friendly loss to Belgium.

McLeish indicated Allan McGregor would replace Craig Gordon in goal and said "we're certainly thinking of other players" for Monday's game.

Christian Panucci's Albania side played their first match in the tournament on Friday, beating Israel 1-0 in Elbasan.

Griffiths was not moving easily towards half-time against Belgium and McLeish told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound: "I think he's going to be okay. He's just having some wee ankle problems."
