It's not really that straightforward in Germany as presented. Ultra groups tend to either be left-wing, or at least anti-racist, or apolitical. Old hooligan groups tend to be right-wing.

Dynamo Dresden,HSV,Hansa Rostock,Energie Cottbus,Hallescher FC, Rot Weiß Essen have a right-wing tendencies in their support but the only clubs that are fully right-wing are Chemnitzer FC,Lokomotive Leipzig and Dynamo Berlin(BFC).

Aye, I was wondering why HSV had been lumped in there. They're * but they are anti-racist from what I know.

    This thread, that guy, wow.

Thank * we are all socially more aware and know that ones narrow minded fascist is not the stereotype of all Italians.

    Just wow.

As for original post, many years ago, always nice to see the clubs I have legitimately taken an interest in are like minded

Might have mentioned this earlier in the thread but out of all the many countries I've watched football in there is not even a competition who the most right wing/fascist and that title belongs to Karpaty Lviv in Ukraine, watched them in Kiev spend the whole match racially abusing Kievs black players and trying to get onto the pitch when a black substitute warmed up, they even sang and chanted about Mussolini, I've been on the Curva Nord in Rome for a Lazio game and it was a picnic compared with that lot in Kiev, a genuinely ugly group indeed.

Forrest is right wing from what I know, Derk is very left ended though, so was that Tonev, believe it or not. Griffiths is more central minded and Stokes is neutral as well, but constantly keeps moving over to the left and then back to the center for some * reason. He even goes to the right as well, he's all over the place. Can't make his mind up.

I saw pictures of Dynamo Moscow/Kyiv fans outside Auschwitz with swastikas on their scarfs and bags.

HSV aren't particularly right wing. In fact, Hamburg as a city is fairly left wing, which is translated into the footballing side of things.

HSV fans are fairly progressive and liberal, politically. As you can see with the 'Refugees Welcome' banners. That is not to say HSV are as left wing as Sankt Pauli, of course.

I always assumed HSV were right wing, or certainly right of centre because Sankt Pauli were left wing. I guess this emanates from football in Glasgow, where Celtic and Rangers are poles apart, and my own ignorance assumed it would be the case in Hamburg. After spending time in Hamburg, as well as speaking to HSV fans, they informed me that it's not the case at all.

    HSV are still * though!

    FORZA SANKT PAULI!

Oh, did that stick in your craw, that one? :smiley-laughing002:

HSV supporters are * (even more odd that you should applaud that post then because he said they're *). That's what was said. No one said they weren't anti-racist but you jumped to their defence and the cynic in me said you were doing it to appear knowledgable (which you are, to be fair), given that nothing was said about their political persuasion. They'll always be * in my book, whether the No Surrender banner was a wind-up or not.
