Game is live on RTE 2 tonight. Guess it beats watching England.

I get what your saying but that does not apply in this case as O'Connor is Waterford born and bred. Plus he has been playing very well for what is currently a strong Ireland U21 team. But he got a red card in the last game making him ineligible for the U21's qualifier in Armenia yesterday hence the call up and debut for the full team.

He was meant to make his Ireland debut a few months ago, maybe the summer but he got injured as I remember reading that when he signed.

Right Damien duff on rte about lee O'Connor don't quote me word for word but general points , he came to Celtic and probably was unfortunate we went from no RBS to 4 RBS, he's prob frustrated he hasn't been involved. He's very good on the ball he's very good positionally you can see he came from a club like man United , the u23 coaches at Celtic are very impressed with him , he's played a lot at United at centre back but he's not tall enough and is a right back. I'm delighted for him

Was hoping he could play somewhere other than RB tbh. We’re stacked there at the moment.

Was sure he could play holding mid, going to be hard to break into the team with frimpong and elhamed ahead of him

Who if ever was the last Celtic academy player to play senior international football before club senior football?

    What a ball that was..

Ireland have looked good this half what I've seen. Seems to be a lot of fresh youngsters and a bit of pace which I think the Irish have lacked in recent year's..

He's made mistakes tonight but what's apparent is when Ireland are defending he drops in and they played 5 at back tonight and whoever was meant to be cover right wing was goneski. No way he could he covering rb and be that narrow for the goal he was nearly in the box

As I say mate I only seen the first half highlights but watched more of her second and he's looked pretty assured..

The ball was just a brilliant pick out..

I'm sure I read before that one of his weaknesses was in the final third but didn't look it there..

Ye man, he was good with a few positives and negatives. Needs a run of games , needs a bit of confidence at club level, I'm very disappointed to be honest we haven't backed him even covering the bench . I don't think he even trains with the first team . Considering he is playing rag ball rovers academy football and a bit of u21 he done very well.

Now Elhamed is out....and he's had his first full cap....I fully expect him to get a shot on the bench in the coming week's with our hectic schedule..

Coffey and Oko-Flex started earlier and Oko-Flex got an assist for the 19's..
