For musicianship alone they're superb, then add that iconic voice & you have the perfect band. Only to be equalled by Rage Against the Machine in my opinion.

I do like listening to them but I also think they are the biggest musical thiefs in the history of popular music and the way they ripped off so many poorer blues guys is awful. But while I dont like Page and Plant for those reasons, they are still an excellent band.

I started reading Robert Plants autobiography but gave up halfway through coz it was boring/*. Love the band tho. Ma best friend and his step dad are massive Led Zeppelin fans, and stayed near Fort Augustus. Then Jimmy Page bought Aleister Crowley's house in Dores, Boleskin house, and his step dad met him in the pub in Fort Augustus and had a pint wi him. Says he was sound

Bunch of thiefs and Page always seems like a wee arrogant * to me.

I do like the odd song but I think Stairway To Heaven is overplayed drivel.

Legends. Led Zepplin 4 is a classic album. That's not to say their other albums were *, but that one stands out.

As a teenager (and even into my early * life) I loved Led Zep. Spent hours and hours playing their records. If my wife would have allowed it, I'd probably have named our son James Patrick in honour of Mr Page.

As I've got into my 30's and beyond (and thanks to the internet), I've read about some of their more unpleasant off stage habits; plus I've realised just how much of their material was plagiarised; and it has rather tarnished my opinion of them.

:mad:Never really liked Led Zep at all...growing up in the 70s every other 16-year old in my class at school seemed to think the sun shines out of their arses, over-rated pompous * in my opinion.

The abuse/crap I used to get for liking new wave/punk music from these people was unreal, just because it was slightly different/ younger/ exciting. I can't really forgive any of them for that :86::85:

I'd never give someone abuse for liking different music, and could never understand all the abuse and violence that used to go down in the late 70's, seemingly stemming from musical/lifestyle/fashion differences.

Although I liked the odd punk song, the thing I disliked was their lack of musicianship. Now I know some saw it as a plus, that anyone could get involved, but I've always admired those musicians who have a real command of their instrument, and appreciate the hours that went into perfecting their craft (especially as I'm a tone deaf muppet, who spent hours trying (and failing) to get a half decent sound out of his own guitar.
