Everytime we display solidarity with the Palestinian people, I feel a great sense of pride that I support this wonderful club. Know that no matter how big the fine or penalty, something as small as a display brings publicity to this cause and it echoes around the world, giving the Palestinians the will the persevere and continue their great struggle. The publicity Celtic has received all over the world due to this has been remarkable, especially in the last year, so much so that AlMayadeen one of the biggest channels in the Arab world released a tribute to our club.

    An excerpt from the video:
"Many clubs around the world have shown their solidarity with the Palestinian cause, the most distinguished being the supporters of Scottish club Celtic who this year won Fifa's Best Fans Award. The passionate followers of the green club are known for their fervent support to the Palestinian cause. This owes itself to the beginnings of the club and the similarities between their cause and the suffering the Palestinians have had to withstand under the occupation. The generations who founded Celtic suffered the same oppression and fragmentation which the Palestinians have had to endure. The beginning goes back to the middle of the 19th Century where a Great Famine hits Ireland, resulting in the death of around 1 million victims and creation of millions of Irish refugees. Thousands of them seek sanctuary in the city of Glasgow following the plunder of their land and their eviction from it, only for their suffering to continue due to racial and sectarian torment. Catholic Priest Brother Walfrid founded Celtic Football Club with the aim of feeding the poor Irish refugees of Glasgow, and from this birth the club has become a supporter of the oppressed throughout the world, from the Palestinians to the Basque and Catalan."

It's what separates us from others and makes us more than a club. I know some supporters are annoyed when we are fined for certain displays but being such a great club who has a stage like the Champions League means our displays get worldwide coverage and somethings transcend football :ynwacelti
