    Brendan has always been keen on him and I could see him being a hero here. Would be delighted with this signing but I think a lot of clubs would be in for him after the Bundes Huns get relegated.

    I'd happily see us break our transfer record on someone like him.

    He is the definition of what we need. 2 or 3 players of his level will take us up.another stage in Europe and even further away from those domestically.

    Would be a cracking signing. And i think pretty realistic. Has been fit the last two seasons. Absolute leader and captain. But has now been thrown out of first team for critising his team mates and then the new coach. Has an absolute winner mentality in himself. Sore loser. Would be a huge boost for us! Think because of his current situation and the (possible) relegation of Hamburg and they are in tight financial sotuation(even talk of them not getting licence in 2nd Bundesliga) might get him for 3/4 mil Euro.

    He would probably be our biggest name signing in years (in more ways than one :giggle1:).

    Not that a big(-ish) name always translates to success, but it would be a real signal of intent to sign a well-regarded player playing in a top league whom most of us know, with his best years ahead of him.

    Hard to imagine teams in better leagues wouldn't be interested in him, but if there's a chance of getting him, * do it.

    Perfect signing. Would sort our defence right out. Can't take players like Jozo and Boyata seriously anymore, totally average and not cut out for European football. Would spend serious dosh to get a player like him in the team next to Ajer, with Hendry and Compper as back up.
