someone mentioned in work he may be off to the sheep?

 

I think for his services to us over the years he deserves a send off.. cmon lads.. I know some of the players involved during the season should get game time. But most will be here next season and will know within them self while holding that trophy that they merit the feeling of achievement.
This is last chance for commons to get a send off he deserves..

Played games. Commons gets rimmed by some folk while sitting doing * all and is one of our highest paid players.

 

Commons hasn't asked not to play, he's not been picked. He's been a great signing for us, unfortunately for him at this stage of his career there are several players in the positions he can play that are better than him at the club. No idea why some are giving him stick

 

People are way too harsh on the criticism of Commons. Aye, he's done nothing this year but that's only because he's not been picked. He trimmed right down in weight, so that's not the sole reason in my opinion.

Maybe BR doesn't rate him... That's fine. But it's not KC's fault. I'm sure he'd have tried his best and contributed well (as much, if not more than NB, for arguments sake) if given the opportunity.

I'll miss him when he's gone, a guy who took Celtic to heart and represented our values a * of a lot. Stuff like this, he's a touch of class.

 

Some folk are unreal i remember people defending the likes of derk for staying put. Whereas commons has contributed a good amount to celtic and been a good servant to the club.

 

It's fine to side with the manager and be sad about how it's worked out for Commons at the same time. He was a favorite of mine for a long, long time, but his time is up.

 

He's actually played games and played well in some of them.

Cost us next to * all and he is a midfielder. The way some people slag Commons off bemuses me. The guy wasn't the most mobile of players but * me he did a job, he bailed us out numerous times from tough situations, we owe him our thanks, not a slagging off for sitting the last year of his contract out, I'm sure he tried to get into Rodgers plans and for whatever reason he didn't make it. He has done a great service to us and has been criminally underrated by a few but also overrated by a few.

 

He can join in the lap of honour with the rest of the squad. And for those who want to give him a big send off, they can do so then.

 

Cant be arsed going through the whole thread.....but did commons and Rodgers have a falling out? Always thought commons was a quality player and find it hard to see how he didn't get more game time especially in cup games.

Was hoping he'd get about 30 seconds at the end of the game or something. Great player for us and wish him success wherever he goes(apart from against us)

 

I'm fine if he wants to bring him on but I don't think he needs to. Too much is made of stuff like that. He'll be on the turf at the end of the game and he'll say goodbye then.

Bringing him on at the end of this game would be like bringing him on at the end of next season. Last season was Common's final season here and we knew that when we offered him the 2 year contract. We only wanted to give him one year knowing he wouldn't play this season but he demanded 2. Fair play to him, we have the money and he's been a great servant, but the 700k bonus we've essentially given him covers any game time he deserves today. I'm sure he'll agree.


Great player by the way, one of my favourites and a nice guy as well. Hope to see him play in the SPFL next season. Just think too much emotion comes from trivial things like this.
