Don't want to get ahead of myself but if it turns out that this guy is good enough to merit a start I wonder who would lose out. Think Rogic is our most important/creative attacking player so I doubt it would be him. Armstrong could be shunted out to a wing position or right back to keep him in the team but he might not have the same quality. Maybe we will just rotate as we'd have the option of a more natural 433 formation. Good to have options!

Would be a very good headache to have. The better the squad we have with more competition for places will only push us on a level.

Celtic new boy Eboue wants to play in Spain or England

Kouassi Eboue has not yet completed his move to Celtic but the Ivory Coast teenager is already eyeing his next move. The player’s agent, Yves Amagbenon, has revealed that the midfielder wants to play in Spain or England. Amagbenon says Celtic is merely a staging post in his client’s career.

His agent sounds a bit of a mouthpiece

Doesn't sound all that bad when you see the quotes, typical tabloids.

Nothing wrong with that at all.

I just hope he's more Wanyama than Bangura.

Someone want to explain to me this whole panel review regarding him being able to play in Scotland? I keep seeing that we are waiting on the work permit which is nothing knew, but that the permit itself is to be decided by a panel who discuss whether or not he will "make a significant addition to the Scottish game".

Is this the norm for every non-British player coming into Celtic, cause I've never heard of this situation before. I'm also curious as too why this is even a scenario, why would a panel need to decide this? Why not just have the player sign and be done with it? As I said before, what are the criteria for this specific player to be put through this, never saw it with another signinf before.

It's the way it's always been, if he hasn't played an appropriate amount of games for his international side it goes to the Panel to decide whether he should be given a Permit or not.

It very, very, rarely fails at that point. At the level we're purchasing players anyway.

It happens with every player who fails the initial application that stipulates under UK law that the player must feature in 75% of Internationals in a period of X months/years. Eboue hasn't done that so therefore automatically fails the initial application. So Celtic have to go through an appeal and present our case to this panel. I cant remmeber the exact criteria but somehting like "Will the player add to scottish football, Is he a future international" etc etc. It should be a formality for someone like Eboue who has been involved in full international squads at just 18/19. We had this with Mizuno and Wanyama too.

I remember reading recently that Dundee got rejected a WP for Jason Scotland, just to renew his contract and then 3 weeks later a different panel awarded him a permit to sign for St. Johnstone. So it seems it can be a bit farcical.

Celtic are hopeful Kouassi Eboue will have his move to Parkhead rubber-stamped tomorrow, reports Craig Swan in Dubai.

The midfielder is in the UAE with the squad after the terms of a £2.8million deal from Russians FC Krasnodar were sealed, but unable to join in the training with a work permit yet to be issued.

Celtic, though, are hopeful the green light might come through from the Home Office at some point today.

he isnt a european national so has no right to work in the uk unless he gets a work permit, sam as any other non EU player,
this could be the reality for any non uk player following brexit

or atleast this is what i believe to be the case

Not always, if he had a certain number of international appearances he would qualify, but he's uncapped
