Steve Clarke Being Lined up for New Kilmarnock Boss. As Much as I dislike The club and their Fans. This is an excellent appointment for Scottish Football in General. Just wish he was going to a Club like Dundee United or such like.

He has a pretty terrible record as a manager.

I did at first but Steve Clarke I don't think will be the type to lay down to the Huns as is the usual from Kilmarnock.

I Think he has potential to prove himself there and maybe get a move to a better club.

    * knows how they pulled this one off. Can't see it ending well for Clark. Kilmarnock and their * fanbase are * muck.

Unbelievable appointment from Kilmarnock, amazing that Clarke wasn't considered for the Scotland job but there you go. Very underrated manager.

it would have been if he were in there as no.2 with a fine experienced manager like alex mcleish.

unfortunately for our ayrshire cousins though, he is going in their as no.1 with one of the most abysmal managerial records out there.

I've seen a few people go on about how amazing the appointment is...is it really?

He had a good start at West Brom before taking them on a terrible run and getting sacked. Then got sacked at Reading in the Championship. He was then part of the "dream team" at Aston Villa that failed.

He seems to be a very good coach, but as a manager I fail to see what's so great about him.

Annoyed because I was hoping these * would get relegated, Clarke will make them into a solid mid table team.
Begs the question why Hearts never went for him? Bigger budget, stadium, fan base, good squad of players. Instead they stick with Levein.

Considering their going from McCulloch to him, that is a big move considering his experience. There's plenty good managers that fail in England but succeed elsewhere.

It's definitely a step in the right direction, and he may well do a great job, but I feel he is very overrated by some people on here.

I rate him but not expecting him to turn them into world beaters or anything, he'll have a good initial impact but the test will be if he can build a team he wants with * all of a budget.
In the bigger picture it's a well known name coming upto the Scottish game to a small team just after Coyle, can only be a good thing.

    Yeah that's a good point.

Never really expected to see Coyle and Clarke up here, unless it was at us, the huns or Aberdeen.

Better win % at West Brom than Tony Pulis, 35.8% at Reading. Wouldn't expect much better from any manager at West Brom and Reading probably have numerous managers with similar stats, don't think they're historically the most steady club.

Weird move, fail at Kilmarnock and his stock would be rock bottom, and I don't see Kilmarnock funding anything serious recruitment wise.

Seems like an Ayrshire boy wanting to come home and get paid while he's at it.
