It would be a big blow to the team to lose him, for me he's our best centre-back since Varga who left 7 * year ago.

The Europa League and Helsingborgs in Sweden last year. We got ripped apart a few times and were very lucky not to concede one or two in that game.

I see where you're coming from but are you implying that Wilson won't be trying as hard as he usually would? I think he is our best centre back and as the people who pay his wages we are entitled to play him whenever we want. He is still under contract whether he likes it or not. Besides, I'd rather have Mulgrew at left midfield.

2.5million for a free transfer is good going especially since he is going back to the same club that we took him from.

We should easily be able to bring in a replacement for him for less than 2.5million.

And if anything this shows that celtic as club dont stand in the way of players wanting away. We dont hold them back if they want to go to the premier league nor do we hold them hostage as people are saying about rooney and bale

If he wants to leave for family reasons then it's his choice and he is a right to leave. It's sad but all the best to him and hopefully other players can ste up and replicate his best defensive moments.

And yes, he SHOULD play tonight. He seems like a sound guy so he will give 100%

I'm not implying that in the slightest. I think Wilson is professional enough to give his hardest whilst in a Celtic shirt, but the fact remains that he *by all accounts* wishes to leave and is looking likely that will be the fact - there's also a possibility that he WONT play tonight.

We may not be signing a replacement for him, so we need to integrate his replacement into the first team as soon as possible to maintain some stability. Mulgrew played CB at the weekend alongside Ambrose, and should continue to do so again tonight, imo.

He wants away for the right reasons, he's going back for his family.

I don't think anybody can have a go it him *possibly his burd for not moving with him*, but I'm in the mindset now that he is no longer a Celtic player, and will look forwards to seeing if we have someone capable of building an excellent and steady partnership with van * (when he becomes available).

He will. Predict he will play a stormer in what will probably be his last game for us before coming down to Forest.
Great business by the way from NF :50:. Jan 2011 they turn down £500k from us. Billy Davies sulks and doesn't play him again. 6 months later we get him on a Bosman and now we are, reportedly, selling him back for £2.5 million. Don't know what's more unbelievable... Billy's business dealings or folks on this site asking for Lawwell's head!

As disappointed as I'll be if this happens, we've got cover. 4 CBs seems enough, plus we've got young guys who could do a job in the SPL. My main concern from this window is the depth we've lost to the squad. Last season we could select a strong starting XI and still be saying 'but it seems unfair to leave such and such out'. At the moment the team is practically picking itself. Really need to make some signings.

We need another central defender, striker, defensive midfielder and left back. Bit gutted with how we seem to just, sell every single one of our best players.

    Bit gutted at this.
He really improved after a bit of a shakey start here.

Can't believe he's going back to the them :54:
