Aye, not good enough with the ball at his feet, too error prone.

his passing improved a lot last season, he's a goal threat, and he was solid last year.

At the start of last season I would have been not too fussed to see him go, but Brendan worked his magic on him and he's now one of our best defenders.

Cast your mind back to only pre season before he got injured, look at what he does at 1.27 into the video.

We don't need that in the side. Let in alone in the CL Groups where the opposition will have a field day with him.

Mate he's hopeless with the ball at his feet, I'm not denying his ability in the air because I agree he's the best we've got in the air both in defending and attacking, however his passing is beyond woeful and can't be trusted. He will ALWAYS have a clanger in him, I could post about another 5-10 calamities from him but can't be arsed looking for them.

Well for the last 6 months of last season he performed really well, and his passing did improve. I was one of his biggest critics because of how awful his passing was, but he changed my mind. I'll trust Brendan on this one. I don't think we are even considering signing another centre half, so for me that means Rodgers rates him.

    From Burnley forum

Celtic do tend to be a good grounding for defenders. van Dijk, Wanyama (ok he's a defensive midfielder) etc. I can see the allure of Champions League football, but they're never going to win it and their appearances in it are all too fleeting when the big boys come in. The draw of the Premier League and playing top sides week in, week out instead of Ross County, St Johnstone or whoever plays in that league these days. Has to be a real bonus.

More chance than Burnley will ever have and I'm sure he'd love the prospect of relegation battles with them over trophies and Europe with us. They are favourites for relegation every single year. Such deluded fans and club that is there for nothing more than to make up the numbers

Yes because playing Brighton, West Brom, Swansea, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Watford etc is playing against "top sides" :giggle1:

Not worried about this tabloid bullshit what so ever.

Number one £10million in that market? They can * right off and number two Burnley? Give my head peace.

No chance this is happening even if someone offered £30 million.

Sviatchenko is apparently as good as sold which only leaves Jozo and Ajer who are fit till September.
