I may be wrong, but I think Lenny wants them to play offside more. I've seen him praising Jozo for it from the sidelines towards the end of last season. Of course, I'm * sure Lenny doesn't want them * it up like that and I'm sure he will go over that moment with the defence; but for me the problem was that they did different things in that moment. IMO that's a communication problem they are both to blame for. Ajer is still an inexperienced kid. It's expected with him. He's going to be a better defender than Jozo is when he matures, of course he is.

I also thought that after that moment, Jozo's reading of the game, tackling, blocking, heading and covering were absolutely outstanding. I thought he was far better than Ajer last night.

I don't disagree with you that he does that sort of thing too often to be a first choice CB, but I genuinely think he's excellent cover for Ajer and Julien.

If he does go as long we don't sign that donkey McKenna as him and boli playing in the defence at the same time gives me the fear .

Lennon when asked about Jozo leaving

“He is a old school centre back and I like him and Ajer together but we do have to be mindful of Jozo knee.”

“His training patterns are constricted and you have to make sure he’s fit to play the games.

“But it’s going to be difficult for him to play three games a week.

There is the reason I would punt to Lille right there!

    Rubbish!

If Ajer and jullian are the main pairing then I would be more than happy to have jozo as a back up.

He can’t be back up on a plastic pitch.

I'd sell for any decent offer and take a pop elsewhere. Don't trust him, rate Boyata higher.

Plus Lenny said himself he has limitations with the amount of games he plays. Not exactly great trying to build up a partnership either.

E.g. picture the scenario Jozo and Julienn looked good last 2 games go with that again ehh?? Oops, I forgot jozo can't play as we need to protect that knee.

Harsh. They both have concentration issues, but Boyata also had a rotten attitude and actively cost us CL.

Potential £6m for a guy who

    Can’t train fully
    Can’t play on plastic pitches
Can’t play 3 games in week
Loses concentration and prone to brain farts
    Can’t playoff side.

Nah if you get decent cash he has to be sold and get someone else in

NEIL LENNON has pinpointed Jozo Simunovic as one of his key men for the season ahead.

The defender missed the visit to Motherwell through suspension but is a cert to be back for Tuesday’s Champions League return against CFR Cluj.

And Lennon insists he’s one of the key parts of the ‘backbone’ system he wants to see in his Celtic side.

He said: “Jozo had competition here with Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic and didn’t play a lot. But when I came in I thought he looked a good defender who comes up with really important goals as well.

“I didn’t realise just how good until I saw him play — especially alongside Kris Ajer. And the more they played together, the happier I was.

“Jozo is what you’d call a proper centre-half, but you’ve got to be mindful of his knee issue.

His training patterns are constricted and you have to make sure he’s fit to play the games.

“But it’s going to be difficult for him to play three games a week.

“They’re a good pairing and it’s vital to have that backbone in the side.

“Kris has been outstanding this season and, at 21, he’s got so much to look forward to.

“There has been interest in him but the way he’s progressing, he’d be one of the last ones I would want out the door.

“It’s a big compliment to the two guys that I haven’t had to play Christopher Jullien.

“It’s good to have that sort of strength in such an important area.

“Christopher will get up to speed as we go on. We know what we’ve got with him — he’s tough and uncompromising and we’ll see more of that as we progress.”

It sounds batshit crazy when we just shipped 4 really poor goals, but I don't think he or Ajer did anything much wrong last night. :97:

Did I miss something when my stream was lagging?

I really really don't like him..

Has no leadership qualities. Is far too rash and most of all is a liability that is massively overrated..

I'd love to know his passing stats. Last night again in possession and he can't pick a pass over and over..

    This.

He's supposed to be an old-school hard *, but can't play more than 3 games a week, and always gets injured playing on a plastic pitch?

Geez * peace man, seen harder in a bowl full of jelly.

    * plook-faced *.

I don't trust him. Even at one point yesterday he lost the ball at the half way line and almost cost us a goal. Also if he can't play 6 league games a season then I would be happy to sell if we could get benkovic back on loan (or buy if at all possible). I noticed he wasn't even in the Leicester squad last weekend.

Put perm-tan up the air but.....

An absolute donkey and shitebag who I've seen flap his pants at the likes of Tynecastle more than once..

Meant to go in to tackles strong but is more likely to do it in a fly, obvious way miles late..

There's nothing hard about him. Even his face has melted divots..

Still the greatest tackle I've ever seen, although the irony in that is if you watch the video back, it's actually plooky's misplaced pass that loses us possession in the first place...

Said it after THAT Hearts game where we lost our unbeaten record that his was the WORST defensive performance I'd seen since Du Wei at Clyde and should never be wearing the Celtic strip competitively again.
