Discuss Joker Movie in the TC Media area at TalkCeltic.net.
*, that confirms it then, it must be brilliant. I’m definitely going to see it
Right what's the craic then do the women like this film?
Might take the mrs when I get home on Friday.
I was actually only kidding, gets a solid 7/10 from me,now you will not be going to see it now
Solid 7/10 for me. Solid enough film but not something I'd rewatch or consider for it's message or something. It's a pretty empty film, advertised and adored by the masses as some sort of Fight Club-esque level of observation.
The same critics who are fawning over Batwoman
It doesn't fit their political narrative so they have rounded on it. Movie critics are a joke these days.
Just learned that one of the songs used in the film is a Gary Glitter song, pretty disgusted by that tbh.
It fits the scene perfectly and is about 20 seconds. Not sure why they picked Rock and Roll Part 2 but they obviously had a reason to.
It's not like it's a song about paedophilia. Just because Glitter is a beast doesn't take away that it's a great song.
I get what you’re saying but there are a lot of other songs that could have been used. Personally I can’t knowingly enjoy or support a song by a convicted paedophile.
It's the fact that he'll probably receive * tons of money for the songs use that has people unhappy.
I don't disagree but where's the uproar over Elvis, Zeppelin etc. They were all at it but it gets ignored because they're on another level.
Not sure of the royalties situation but this is an industry which still supports Roman Polanski. Obviously I'd rather Glitter doesn't get any money from it but if we start going down this route a lot of great art will be lost.
Many of the all time greats in many fields are despicable people but great art is great art and people need to make that distinction.
* all that man, ostracise him and don't use any songs that will fund his 'lifestyle' in Asia. There's a stupid amount of music out there that could've been used instead.Holywood's support for Polanksi is pretty disturbing...but it's not surprising given what we know about casting couches and other recent scandals. They should all be gulaged.
Didn’t know about them but I’ve never really been a fan of either so that’s why.
That might be the worst possible argument for a paedo gaining royalties from a soundtrack I’ve ever heard.
* it, it’s only 20 seconds and fits the scene.
I am like this too, I would be fine if I knew he wouldn't get any money for it though.
As has already been said the song went well but you could probably find another song fairly easily that could substitute in. I hadn't heard GG in years, I used to love "Leader of The Gang" and that "Rock n Roll Part 2"(the one in film) growing up.
Seen it yesterday, fantastic movie, ending was intense
The subway scene was absolutely fantastic, for me it showed him finally snapping
The scene in the toilets after it elevated that scene even more.
Rock and Roll PT 2 suited the scene perfectly - musically... and contextually. Incredibly clever selection!
Yes, Paul Gadd is a disgusting human being who deserves to rot. Gary Glitter, however, was a musical act with a large team behind its production. The two CAN be separated!
Also, the other members of the GG team shouldn't be denied the opportunity to collect their portion of song royalties (and in this case, Mike Leanders estate is likely to collect the most as he co wrote and produced this particular tune).
Jared Leto is reportedly upset he didn't play the Joker.
He was *.
