Whatever your opinion is of McGinn we should always try and develop the best young Scottish talent, mixed in with correct balance of imports..

KT, Forrest, Armstrong, McGregor Brown, Griffiths .. are Scottish players we've developed and made made better..

With the likes of Ralston, Miller, Johnston, Christie and Morgan all showing good progress and potential..

How much would he cost us?

What type of midfielder is he?

think his form has been poor at present as watched the derby against hearts and the question we need to ask will he improve the team.

I'd say he's better than Mcgregor cos he can tackle but not Armstrong.

I think people are reacting over one bad derby match. He's a great prospect.

Lennon seems to play him on the left of a midfield 3. In our system he'd play in one of the holding two positions as he's is more left footed, he'd play next to Brown or Ntcham. His main attribute is his strength.

Price is the key issue.. with anything between £1m and £4m being branded around. I'd say £2m is realistic as he's been poor recently. (Hearts, Huns & Aberdeen)

well Mcgregor's an innefective player for me...

Mid would have to be Brown/Ntcham

that leaves Armstrong/Rogic/Mcginn infront of them / rotate mid between Mcginn and Ntcham interchanging.. has a decent shot mcginn.

Seems like McGregor has to prove a lot of people wrong all over again..

Which is ridiculous when you analyse what he brings to us.

Calum McGregor is a superior footballer to McGinn - McGinn brings other things but to call McGregor ineffective is complete and utter nonsense.

He's actually one of the only players that has just about retained his top form from last season.

Brown needs help in there at times in some big matches..McGregor doesn't offer that.

McGinn is a good player, but he's another one that wouldnt considerably improve our squad. He wouldnt walk straight into the team and would be another squad player until he gets farmed out on loan after a season. Its not these type of players we should be looking at. We need top class players that are going to go straight into the starting line up and improve the team immediately. Thats the only way we can improve from the position we are in. Top players of European standard. Not a player that maybe might be a great player in 4/5 years time.

He's 24 this year, what age do you need to be to no longer be a "prospect"

Is John McGinn capable of going toe to toe with Bayern Munich? In the same sort of vein, is Armstrong?

McGregor takes some amount of unwarranted pish off of people, then he'll play well for a couple games and those same folk will tell you they've always rated him.

    John McGinn isn't Scott Brown.

I'm not bashing the guy I think he's a good player, just stating the fact that McGregor is a proven talent. McGinn isn't.

true that's why i'd only pay 2m at a stretch..not sure it helps our creativity though either .with Roberts/Rogic out.. in certain games we can't have too light a midfield though.

It’s far from fact that mcregor is a proven talent. He doesn’t and thus far can’t own a game the way brown, rogic or Armstrong can. When the going gets tough he hides away and is invariably a man down because of it.

Although it's natural to compare to the players already here, it's unfair to do so..

Sometimes the Celtic Jersey is too heavy for players. So we have no real way of knowing if he would make it. He's a Celtic boy tho, so he'd be living the dream.

McGinn has plenty of room for development and a midfield of him and Brown holding would be domestically very imposing.. he would add to the squads depth..

Also we should punt Armstrong this window or next due to his length of contract. It will leave space in the squad..

I'm not comparing him to Brown but he does have power and strength something we lack in our team, when Brown isn't in it..
