i like him and think he will do well under Brendan and probably be Browns long term replacement although i bet Lenny wants Henderson as part of deal

Could do an all out hockey trade. McGinn for Allan and Commons? Or McGinn for Henderson, and maybe throw in a £300k kicker. Personally, I'm a big Hendo fan so I think it'd be tough letting him go just to get McGinn back, even if he is rated higher. I don't think the difference would be worth giving up Henderson for McGinn altogether.

Give them £1million and Henderson, Allan, GMS and Ciftci on loan.

Could Brendan improve him? The obvious answer is yes. He has all the attributes that Brendan likes (as he's stated publicly). Just needs some fine tuning..

I do struggle to see where he'd fit in right now though, especially with Brendan wanting a central marquee type playmaker..

I wouldn't let those *'s hold us to ransom either way. This isn't the Steven Fletcher day's..

We should be thinking, is he the best player we can get for the amount of money we are willing to spend? If not then why buy him. We need players who are going to come in and make the first team straight away.

We've got Brown and Armstrong playing great for this and if Brendan wants him, he must have something that players like Scott Alan and Henderson don't.

The ability to do a job defensively. Other than Brown we don't have anyone else we can trust to sit in midfield. Thats why i'd bring him in, he has a good allround game, he's a driving force and a leader, he gets around the pitch, can carry the ball on a run and is a smart player who knows what he's doing in defence and attack and if Brown wasn't playing we could trust him to do the defensive job although his main role would be more of a roaming player.

If Eboue is the real deal then surely his opportunities would be limited?

That's what I thought, but I don't know how similar they are. If we offloaded button, Henderson, Allan, and maybe Christie I'd say why not

We don't need anymore squad players, we need quality.

Pretty confident Rodgers has his sights set higher than John McGinn.

If Brendan wants him, good enough for me. Has the potential to be a quality player for us even if not a first team player right away.

We do really need a squad player for the defensive midfielder position though as we only have Brown in the squad. It's the only position we really need a squad player except left-back if Izaguirre goes or up front but we atleast have Aitchison or guys to fill in and do a job but if Brown is out we have nobody who really does a defensive job in midfield.

Nah. I want our money blown on someone who will turn us into a last 16 team minimum.

He's a FOMO signing. I do see him as Brown's natural successor though so no matter how bloated our midfield may be, I think he would be worth it.

That's what keeps me thinking this isn't a goer - or that we shouldn't be chasing him.
Is he better than Brown or Armstrong for the middle slot? Not for me no. Is he better than Eboue and McGregor as back up - perhaps better than McGregor, we do not know about Eboue yet.
So for me, if he is to come in - or anyone for that matter - I want him to be better than Brown or Armstrong to make the squad stronger as a whole. No point shipping Bitton and Henderson out, just to fill their position with someone of a similar ilk.
