Don't see the hype at all he's not better than what we have and its not a position we need to focus on in January.

    I was impressed today myself.

To be honest he is decent nearly every time I watch him, I’d probably take him here.

    This.

Broony had him sussed after the first couple of battles. Realised McGinn was trying his hardest to make a name for himself by going after Brown so he just let him keep charging into him and would immediately turn to the ref and tell him how many fouls it had been.

£4m for a Hibs player with 18 months on his contract who wouldn't be a starter would be a bargain?

    Jesus Christ.

Played well, won his fair share of battles.

Always been sceptical, but I liked what I seen yesterday. Still think £4m is too much.

Remember the same things being said about Brown.. Hibs will punt him this window or next, I hope it's to us..

He's Celtic minded with loads to his game. Broonie won't last forever and will start to play less games McGinn could do a job in his absence. Having players with his quality, who know what we're about is hard to put a price on.

Don't remember that being said about Brown. He was the most hyped Scottish player I can remember.

He was regularly dominating against teams of a far higher calibar than they are just now.

Brown can't go on forever, but if we're looking at people like McGinn to replace him then we're more * than I thought for when he retires.

Decent player, not worth £4m though, pass.

What I mean is it's similar in lots of ways, McGinn has about 18 months left on his contract so did Brown. They are similar in age and questions marks were raised on the amount of cash each were worth.

McGinn has looked good everytime I've seen him and seems to have everything going for him. He's strong, he can pass and has a goal in him.

Broonie has proved more than value for money and I'm sure McGinn would too. As I said he's from a Celtic background so if you add that to his attributes, it's hard to put a price on him.

You don't rate him you've made it clear. I think we'll regret it if we don't get him.

I'm sure he'd offer more value for money than Eboue has thus far.

For me it's a no brainer but I'm finding this thread really interesting gauging the split of opinion here.

We all know our midfield is crying out for another player who's not afraid to take the game by the scruff when Broony isn't around - McGinn is that type of player with tenacity and passing ability required.

As long as Hibs don't get greedy then I don't see paying around 3.5m as too much.

would offer them 3 million. Think we would come to an agreement that suits us both.

If you go right back to the Scott Brown thread comments from '07 (yes I am that sad) you'll read the exact same debate as everyone is having right now.

Considering our recent track record with buying SPFL talent I wouldn't be paying anything near 3-4m for him he's not going to improve us in Europe imo and that's what we need.

Been away for the weekend and just watched the game there.

Find it hard to take anyone seriously who says he was * or not impressive.

Got the better of Brown and our midfield numerous times. Definitely was a 'contest'.
