    Big John is easily one of my favourite Celtic players ever,one of those ex-players who has become as much a fan as the rest of us.Highly recommend his book btw...it's really quite inspiring

    Big John was brilliant. Im still convinced we'd have won that UEFA Cup Final if we had Big John on the bench that night to bring on. The teams were tiring and if we could have freshened it up with Hartson, Im sure he'd have been the deciding factor.

    It doesnt bear thinking about how different history would have been if he'd have passed that fitness test at Ibrox.

    Also that probably would be a foul nowadays I hate how much it isn't a contact sport.

    Hartson was in the form of his life during that run.

    If he'd have played THAT night, we'd have won. I'm 100% positive of that.

    I dont know if this story is in his book i will make it short

    he goes back down to Wales after failing the medical at ibrox and is not in a good frame of mind , goes out with his mates and gets * .
    There are hanging flower baskets in the main street BBJ starts leaping up and kicking them , the police come allong and arrest him .
    The following dday his agent comes along and says he has to fly back up to Glasgow he thinks its a mistake in the medical agent says no , Celtic want to see you, he is surprised but flys up .
    Does his medical then goes to meet Celtic reps.

    They turn round and say to him we dont think our training methods will suit you , he feels dejevu coming on again and asks " What do you mean"
    They answer " we dont have flower baskets for you to kick and head " he laughed and signed straight away
