Celtic are reportedly interested in taking Liverpool defender Joe Gomez on loan.

Former Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen on the idea of signing Gomez who returned to first-team action against Plymouth in the FA Cup at the weekend.

If there was an opportunity for a permanent deal (doubtful)I'd take it in a * nanosecond.

Before his injury he looked * brilliant for Liverpool.

 

Cant see it. Unless its a loan with a summer purchase option then no reason why we'd want him for 6 months, especially at the FB position.

 

This is interesting. I do think we need another RB and LB.
The game at Ibrox underlined this need.Both our FB's were exposed, especially the first half.

 

IF we could get him, it's an absolute no brainer.

Plays anywhere across the back 4, and is a cracking wee player.

 

He's quick and a good footballer as well. He's going to be class from what I've seen of him, rate him very highly.

Brendan knows him well and had him playing as a full back, left back. His kinda defender.... All across the back like you say, and that versatility is invaluable, especially with the way Brendan switches formations during game's..

Big pedigree, lightening quick, solid in the tackle. Big boy and still developing and would be a great signing in my opinion..

Probably been like a broken record on here as I've championed this quite a few time's since Brendan came in..

True. Very unlikely we'd get him but, but he's been out for a long time with a bad injury I think..

Klopp has signed a few defender's and has also been big on the young right back whenever Clyne is out. Depends if he's surplus or not but would still be on the watch-list down here for a host of side's..

Few player's come out of that Charlton academy. We should keep an eye on them early door's..

 

Liverpool just sold Tiago llori for 3.75mil when they bought him for 7mil. Not saying we would defos get him for far under 10 but it could happen.

 

It's the wage drop to come here would always be the problem but with Rodgers wanting a very small squad it's possible.

 

Even a loan deal would be good if we got him for the CL qualifiers.

 

Sinclair and Toure have both proven either players are willing to drop their wages or we can pay a decent wage.

 

18 month loan like Roberts would be a good deal.

 

Would be a great addition, I mind him playing for Liverpool wwhen he first signed, right-footed but he always played left-back and looked very good on the ball and quick and strong. Could tell he was a quality player considering he was only 18 at the time and I dont think they signed him expecting to play him.
