    How did you end up at Manchester City?
    “That's pretty special. In the Netherlands I never played soccer at a club. I was not often found on the street or in squares. On television in England I watched Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as a child. I thought that was wonderful. With friends I went to play football in Manchester for fun. We participated in a youth tournament with a local team from Openshaw. I was nine years old. We played seven against seven. That went very well. I brought the team to the final, which we also won. After that several scouts stood in line for me. I could choose between Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City. "

    Manchester City was a logical choice?
    “I first went to Liverpool. My parents thought that club was the best choice. But the distance simply proved too large. Then it became Manchester City. My parents brought me to the youth complex after school. That's fifteen minutes. From that moment on, I train at least two hours a day. This season I am only free on Sundays. The first team usually plays. I am in the stands at home matches. ”
