Was massively missed in Athens. I’ve said before that defence has needed sorted since Brendan took over, and it’s still a * riot!

 

I was thinking that maybe the board dont want to go get the CB or other defensive recruits right away cos they will recieve heavy flak for no just doing it before crunch qualifiers. Maybe leaving it a bit will make them look slightly less bad. We MUST be looking at CBs surely!?

 

First season go to Astana was it ambrose and O'Connell at CB then last year Bitton and Ajer....

 

Even if it was seen as a lack of scouting or whatever and he ended back I would still be happier and more confident with him coming back than I would with whoever else they could come up with. Their track record hasn’t exactly been great with the likes of Compper and Hendry coming in.

At least we know he has been here and performed for us before.

Looking unlikely now though unfortunately.

Before the world cup i was actually hoping he'd do well and some team would come in for him and offer maybe 5m and we'd have robbed them. Don't know if it was all paper talk about him but he made it clear that he didn't want to come back here last season and he went to Turkey now he is off to France his career doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

 

Yeah, because coming to play in Scotland is a sign that your career is on the up.

 

The transfer window has been so * that it ranges between utterly depressing and completely hilarious.

It appeared as though we had taken a few steps forward with transfers under Rodgers, now though it looks like we’ve reverted to type, taken a few steps further backwards, shat ourselves and then fallen over face first in that very *. I’m honestly not sure I can think of a window that been so badly handled. My only hope is that it triggers a much wider review into how we conduct transfers and handle contract negotiation of currrent players, but I won’t be holding my breath.

 

Sunderland fans didn’t see the best of him because he was deployed in midfield, an unnatural position for him. He rarely got a chance to play at the back, either at CB or RB and they were also being managed by a clown at the time.

I wouldn’t take Denayer back though, his attitude stinks and he clearly doesn’t appreciate what we gave him last time.
