We didnt sign denayer but it doesnt matter cause we hate boyata

 

I doubt he was ever coming here but it's worrying if him and that italian cb are the only other cb's we've scouted.

 

Been an absolute holocaust of a transfer window.

We're not signing anyone in this window.

Even though I'd have welcomed Denayer it still would have shown an incredible lack of vision.

As per the newest reports in Portugal, Lyon offered ~35M€ for Rúben Dias but Benfica demanded his release clause (45M€). The negotiations went on for a month but eventually failed.

Lyon moved for Denayer instead, wanting to close a deal quickly.

I was thinking the same.

If we did sign him, it was only going to be on loan, which would mean come next summer he'd be back training with City meaning he'd miss our most important games in the qualifiers.

Having said that, we are in such desperation since our other CBs are so *, I would have gladly taken him.

 

Being knocked back by Boyata now this *, surely to * we aren’t that stupid not to sign a CB?

 

Two CBs and a RB.

If we did make those three signings and they were of good quality (Ntcham, Edouard, Dembele type quality, that is) it would end up being an excellent window, even though there's other areas of the pitch that need improvment as well, like CMF.

However, the fact we don't even seem to have any defenders on the radar bar the ones who used to play for the club tells you all you need to know about Congerton and whoever else is doing the scouting at the club.

 

As I said in other thread we have 3RB and 5CB unless 1 RB and 2 CB leave then we ain't signing anyone - I do genuinely believe we will sign no further players this window

 

Half of those aren’t good enough though, yes facts and numbers are nice but being able to do it on the pitch is all that matters.

 

You're probably right.

Surely if we had done our homework and had players lined up they'd have been here by now.

Which means either a) Lawwell * us over - a very real and strong possiblity. or b) Lee Congerton is to scouting what David Murray is to the 100m hurdles.

 

Brendan said he could have signed 10 players around 2 weeks ago but they where not the right quality and then hinted about the English window closing might benefit us but I just can see it two weeks tonight sitting here to tumbleweed

 

Aye Gyp yer correct only Ajer for me is a CB and he is a young guy.

 

Really worrying looking at what Southamptons(i think) fans think of him and the dross he brought to them. They seem to feel sorry for us and arent surprised weve been making rubbish signings.
