Reports on the BBC gossip page, he wants back to Parkhead. Not sure how I feel about this?

Unquestionably he played well for us last time round, but he hasn't pulled up any trees since leaving, AND he appeared to give it plenty about how he'd outgrown us and Scottish football before he departed.

Pretty sure he'd slot into the current defence, and do well, but would you want him?

Would love Denayer back here. Think he'd be perfect in this system.

He was brilliant. Struggled a bit since he's left but must have improved as a player (been stuck at right back and centre mid). Would take him back instantly. Him and Jozo would be a small pairing though. Could be a bit awkward after Boyata said he'd "make us forget about Denayer"

I was hoping we could've signed him on a perm' during that last loan spell...
I suppose the mancs' had other ideas.

    Pointless if it's a loan.

Also hit out with this after he left: “Galatasaray was a great experience for me — much more so than at Celtic where it was too easy,”

If he's the best centre back available to us between now and midnight tomorrow then yes, 100%.

My biggest concern with a loan is the massive rebuilding job we could need next summer - Gordon, Lustig, two centre backs, Armstrong, Roberts and Dembele may all end up needing replaced.

    K-hunt...

Then again, you kinda' get where he's coming from and i don't think it's a swipe at us as such.
Just the dominance we show when we play.

    But anyways...
Aye, it's not the greatest thing he could've said. :)

Don't want Denayer back. Mainly cause I'm petty and don't like his attitude towards his first spell here

Aye, that statement he made, might just leave too sour a taste in many a man's mouth.

I would definitely take him back. Some of the things he said after his loan deal ended definitely left a sour taste in the mouth (no idea why footballers do this, I mean, if you literally say nothing, no one will have an issue and you'd be welcomed back by fans with open arms).

I do think Denayer benefitted hugely from having VVD beside him, and for a guy who thinks he had nothing to learn here - we really leaked goals in Europe with him at the back.

Still though, I believe he's solid and could at least provide competition at the back, something we definitely need.

Honestly thought Denayer coped far better in Europe for us than VVD did.

Definitely better than Erik but don't want him on loan as we know all about him. We should be spending some cash. Unless Man city have him in there future plans.

    Feel exactly the same.

I got the feeling that he felt he was too good for us when he left, whereas Van Dijk, who was the better player and who obviously wanted to leave too, was respectful and has been nothing but complimentary of us.

That said, because we're so short in that area, I'd take him back on loan.
