Discuss January Transfer window in the Celtic Chat area at TalkCeltic.net.
You obviously don’t read too good.
Vertie cheers looks like you’re right
Again mate, you provided absolutely no argument to what I said, every time I ask you to provide something and you don't, you've successfully avoided answering around 3 times now
Mate are you this mad in real life?
A wee bit.
It's not so mad. It's players from maybe Schalke, Dortmund or Bayern that never made the cut or got sick waiting for games. Think this guy was with them on loan and went back to Japan.
This was the list
That was my reply to you.
& I ain’t your mate.
"Mate" was an expression, I didn't know you were so sensitive. Benkovic is even this window but I said tell me someone who isn't a loanee or prospect. Obviously you brought up Paddy etc which aren't part of this window and Sinclair was a player with a lot of pedigree.
Bayo - Relatively unproven
Trapp - Relatively unproven
Gutman - Unproven
There hasn't been a player brought in who is experienced and ready to make an immediate impact and possibly push ambition in Europe.
I’ll humour you once more.
You said still scraping as if we always do. I named a few that have been brought in previously that could be ascribed to that pedigree you described & look down on. Can you not understand that.
This window is less than halfway through time wise & in my opinion is looking like it could be decent & give us the fresh impetus we seem to be in need of. We are still being linked with other players & some are proven with experience. Yet you & several others can’t see past previous failings in windows so just slate the club / manager / board (delete where appropriate) even when they appear to have learned a lesson.
& * do you mean “Benkovic is even this window” he’s from the summer window, is that another mistake or do you even follow us?
Do you mean Perez instead of Trapp?
You never make a mistake?
No the discussion is "January" transfer window. Benkovic was the only coup of the last window and in the summer we'll have to replace him and all other loanees. And the board normally promises a lot of things And doesn't really come through. The club has made a lot.of money off of the fans, CL money and the sale of players. In a lot of ways we are scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for the cheapest of the cheap option. Which is great Larsson, VVD, Waynama didn't cost much but for every one of those there are 10 or 15 duds. Teams like Shaktar even Dortmund rebuilt teams with 30M. Not asking for that to be spent but if they had 15M even they could start building a strong core. Instead we haven't filled positions we've needed to fill for a long time. RB, two CBs come summer, Scott Brown replacement LW. So yes I think the board have scrapped and scrimped
Look what i do now:
Sorry to be annying again, but Dortmunds transfer spendings the last 5 years:
17/18: 109 mil, 16/17: 121mil, 15/16: 20mil(bought they got a few out of contract players if i am correct), 14/15: 66,3, 13/14 52,2mil. All in Euro ofcourse. They spend considereable more then us.
I think this season they are on about 70 odd mil Euro.
If you were really sorry you wouldn’t keep correcting him with cold hard facts, that’s just not helping him.
Perez, Trapp, same difference, both non Icelandic & two arms.
We nedd a CB now and ideally one signed up to join in the summer for CL Qualification..
Can’t be going into the qualifiers with Ajer and Jozo or Hendry anywhere near the squad.. if we don’t prepare for that in this window it will be negligence, again.
With gutman and perez signing it's been an ok start to the window, and if we're able to extend weah's loan by a year then i'd say it's a good, another RB and CB and i'd class it as a good window, but ideally we need 2 cb's.
Correct, especially given the notice we've had that Boyata and Benkovic will not be here next season.
I suspect we'll be trying to scrimp on wages and will only sign a CB if Boyata goes.
Lets face it we have so far signed no one who we can say "he is almost certainly going to be success". Weah, Burke, Bayo....might be very good, might be *. Im not sure of the wisdom in relying on youngsters to win us a title. The likes of teenager Weah might be a very talented player but can he handle playing for Celtic when the pressure is on? Many more experienced players than him have found out that they cant.
We are signing nobody else this window.
