    CELTIC and Stoke are battling it out for Luton right-back Jack Stacey.

    Both clubs are ready to follow up enquiries over a £2million move for the defender.

    Stoke boss Nathan Jones signed the 23-year-old two seasons ago from Reading while at Reading and made him a key player at Kenilworth Road.

    Stacey helped the Hatters earn promotion to the Championship this season but his form has attracted interest.

    Jones wants him in his squad at the Bet365 Stadium to push for another promotion and the chance of the Premier League in 12 months.

    Celtic are also willing to discuss a deal and have added Stacey to the right-backs they are pursuing this summer.

    The Scottish giants are busy fending off Arsenal as they look to hold onto left-back Kieran Tierney.

    Stacey has one season left on his contract which means Luton could consider an offer or risk losing him for nothing in a year.

    James Justin is a RB but last season he played entirely at LB (and was excellent) with Stacey at RB.

    This graph shows just how good Stacey is attacking wise in comparison to every other FB (under 25) in the EFL.

    Annoyingly he seems to have extended his contract by a year since I posted so we can't get him for just compo now.

    Him and Gumny have been my ideal two for RB since Lenny came in.

    James Justin the guys name is and he’s played left back for them. Stacey played like 45 league games at RB this season.

    I got mixed up with name. He was on the leaked transfer list as a RB. I didn't know he played left back, hence my question.

    Read good things about this lad, he’s 23 so not reached his peak yet.

    Would like to think he will be 1 of 2 rbs coming in. Although Stacey seems like a decent prospect he doesn’t fill the void that Lustig leaves in terms of experience playing at a high level. Replacing an international player with a league 1 prospect would be underwhelming.
