Fingers crossed he does well, 4.5 year deal so he has time to settle in, once he has hopefully he can show us why Brendan rates him so highly! Good luck lad!

    Welcome to Celtic, Jack!

Glad he's not going back out on loan. Looking forward to seeing him play.

TRANSFER deadline day was one that felt like it was never going to end for Jack Hendry. His proposed move to Celtic, so long muted and speculated on throughout the January transfer window, was edging ever closer to completion even as the end of the window drew closer too.

Thankfully for the player, however, the deal was sealed between Celtic and Dundee, and the 22-year-old signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Scottish Champions.

And, though tired at the end of an emotional day, the new Celtic player was still delighted at having made the move to Paradise.

“It feels brilliant,” he told Celtic TV. “It was a very long day but to finally get it done is great. It’s hard to describe the feeling. To be part of this football club is a very proud moment for me.

“I’m very relieved that the deal was finally agreed. It was out there for quite a while, so for it to go down to the last day, it was a bit nervous, but I’m really excited to be here now and I can’t wait to get going.

“I just want to get started and that’s what I’m totally focused on. It’s a bit surreal, although I’ve had a bit of time to think about it, and I just to get to know my team-mates and start playing football.

“The manager’s just seen a lot in me. He’s recognised what I’m good at and what I can bring to the squad, and hopefully I can repay that faith he’s shown in me. I really appreciate it and I’m looking forward to it.

“I feel that I thrive in this kind of environment. I like playing in big games and in big arenas and you don’t get much bigger than Celtic Park, so I feel that it fits me down to a T and that’s why I was so keen to come to this football club – for the surroundings and the history. There’s no better fit for me.

“I always want to keep on learning and keep on improving and with the coaching staff and the players here, I feel that I’ll come on leaps and bounds here and that’s a big incentive for me to come here. I’m still young so I’ve got a lot to learn and improve on, but this deal gives me the time to do that and really kick on.”

Hope he does well! I find it hard not to get excited about a new signing, even if I wasn't in favour of him coming from the beginning.

Young, Scottish, sounds like he has his head on straight. Hopefully he kicks on and proves me and all his doubters wrong. Best case scenario, he's a standout and becomes a CB for the national team.

So you're telling me we just signed Scotland's answer to Iker Casillas and Franz Beckenbauer?

I preferred my original Scottish Lev Yashin but aye we will go with that.

No Beckenbauer but, that's Davie Ginger Bates
