Watched the second half of the Dundee-Aberdeen match and Hendry was impressive. Looks like a bit of a giant.

I hope our policies have changed since then. At worst, players like Hendry and Robertson would have been competent squad players.

I know there’s an argument that they wouldn’t necessarily have developed in the way that they have, but we can and should loan players out at a young age to provide them with enough game time to reach their potential.

Not against it, as long as we add real experienced quality too..

The thing I like about Hendry is he stands out like a sore thing when you’re watching games.

That doesn’t happen often in Scottish football. For me anyway, particularly with centre halves

He can play and he’s a lump of a boy, there’s definitely something there to work with. We do have that with Ajer right enough.

Is it possible we’ll move for him in the summer? This looks good to me, but I can’t see us signing three - and moving out two - centre-halves in January:

    European-level centre-half
    Hendry
    Ajer
    Compper
    Šimunović

They are not four champions league level centre half. You could say two at a push at the minute

It's weird though, the vast majority of players we've produced in the last 15+ years are small: Maloney, McGeady, Liam Miller, Forrest, McGregor, McGeouch, Tierney. McManus, John Kennedy and Jackson Irvine are the only tall ones I can think of.

I never claimed that they were all Champions-League level centre-halves. Compper and the European-level centre-half would, presumably, be first-choice centre-halves in Europe; Ajer and Šimunović are competent and have the potential to improve; Hendry would be a low-risk signing who is already good enough to play at the top level in Scotland, and, again, has the potential to improve.

I don't really remember too much about him from the times we've played Dundee, but I remember there being talk of him going on trial with Everton when he was at Partick Thistle.

Saw him for Aberdeen against Dundee the other week and he did alright in a crap team.

Many reports saying we are set to sign him, as well as Lewis Morgan this January. Really don't see the need at all. If we sign another CB, he needs to be a top quality one. Adding another youngerish player is unnecassary IMO. We have Ajer, whose looking really good at CB, and is also much younger (and I think has looked more impressive).

It would mean bringing in three centre-halves in one window (perhaps, sending Hendry out on loan until the end of the season). I can only see it being necessary if two of our centre-halves are set to leave in the next two windows.

    Benković?
    Hendry
    Ajer
    Compper
    Šimunović

Can't disagree that it looks stacked, but even then that would pose an issue. We'd have Benkovic and Compper starting, Jozo on the bench and rotating in every week, plus Ajer and Hendry, who would really need to be playing often to grow and develop. Could send one out on loan, but that still leaves one to sit on the bench.

    Would still prefer just 4.

That’s a fair point. It could suit us if we started playing three at the back more often.

I imagine Hendry will be loaned out for a season.

Can't be to Dundee unless we cancel Allan's loan.

If it was up to me , Jozo would be first out the door. He's not the player we all thought he could be. Too many injuries as well. Boyata would be next out.

Hendry would return to Dundee on loan for rest of season. Erik will be gone. Nir natural position isn’t CB as we all know.
