think its about time some of these clubs in the lower leagues who are struggling to support themselves with the few fans they get go under and allow some of the ambitious * and semi pro clubs into the league

i'd also agree with allowing bigger teams to have reserve teams come youth teams into the setup it would benefit the players and the lower league attendances in my opinion for what its worth

obviously theyd not be allowed prizes as it would be too easy for us to dominate in there and thats not the purpose

regarding young jack good luck to him he'll need to build himself up physically, look at the 2 monster young forwards we have in dembele and eduard and they are still youngsters

CELTIC Academy youngster, Jack Aitchison is joining Dumbarton on loan, and will be with the League One club until January 2019.

The youngster has made four Celtic appearances, his first being in a 7-0 win over Motherwell on May 15, 2016 when he came off the bench and scored with his very first touch as first-team player. In doing so, he became not only the youngest ever Celtic debutant, but also the club’s youngest goalscorer.

The attacker will be looking to help Stevie Aitken’s team rise up the table, and everyone at Celtic Park wishes Jack every success in his time with Dumbarton

Hopefully get some game time when he comes back in January. After our main 2, we've only him and PJ Crossan really that are realistic options to come into the team.

If we dont sign a Striker before 12, we really could have used him for the smaller games

The very best of luck to the lad , hopefully he can learn , grow and mature in his spell with Dumbarton . If he proves his worth , he'll be back at Celtic and striving for game time with us . Always good to produce a player that has climbed through the ranks .

When was the last time one of our youth team strikers made the move up to the first team and became a success? Feels like it's been forever, really hoping that Aitchison can do it

    Tony Watt, initially.

    ---

At 18, this is the perfect age for him to go and get first team experience, regularly. Hendry and Boyata, in comparison to Tierney, are perfect examples of why you need as much experience as early as possible.

CELTIC are delighted to announce contract extensions for two highly-rated young prospects from the club’s Academy system in Jack Aitchison and Daniel Church. The pair agreed new deals with Celtic that will see them remain at the club until at least June 2021.

Aitchison has been a key player in the Celtic Reserves in recent seasons and the 18-year-old has already impressed in the first-team. On the final day of the 2015/16 season, Aitchison made history by becoming the youngest ever Celtic debutant when he made his first appearance in the senior side.

The Hoops forward set a second record that afternoon by becoming the youngest scorer in the club’s history when he tucked away the seventh goal against Motherwell. As part of his ongoing development, the Scotland Under-19s forward has joined League One side Dumbarton on loan until January 2019.

Daniel Church turned 18 years-old in July and has had also had an impressive rise through the Celtic Academy system. The full-back is a key part of Tommy McIntyre’s Reserve side and was recognised for his performances earlier this year with a call-up to the Scotland Under-19s squad, where he played all 90 minutes against the Netherlands.

Makes sense. We need 3 strikers, why not give him a chance?

I hope that is the reason he cut the loan short.

There is no way a guy that couldnt score for Dumbarton can be our 3rd striker.

Loans will be somewhat different in contractual nature, but had he been released by his club from a full contract and became a free player, then we would still surely be able to sign the lad?
Just view it like a ripped up contract.
