Yes, they probably were relieved, I know I * was!

But you can bet 100% those players left the stadium that night full of pride at reaching the CL group stages.

How can it be 100% relief when the manager said himself that it was a mixture of pride and relief?

Surely the clue is in the quote?

So why tell me I'm clutching at straws when I say they're relieved?

And like I've always maintained, there's a difference between being proud to be in the CL and being proud at winning a match v Karagandy.

I remember you, you might not remember me.

I never minded you being so dismissive of our clubs achievements. You always struck me as quite a level headed guy who was proud to support Celtic no matter what.

    Not by sensible people.

Just out of curiosity, how many people here are actually excited by Lennon's style of play and think that watching his Celtic side is entertaining?

The manager was talking about beating them, not his actions after the goal. He was proud to (I imagine) overturn the deficit when some had written us off.

Given the fact he doesn't do this on a regular basis I would say it's safe to say the relief got the best of him rather than the pride.

    Just my opinion on it.

I'd love to see a good answer to this because even the people backing him must admit the style of football's been by and large disappointing.

Because you're claiming the people celebrating at watching a magnificent goal to put us through to the group stages was solely through relief, which is not the case.

Are you saying here that you WERE proud to beat Karagandy then?

It has, and I have spoken on many an occasion at how it could be better.

I do remember you mate. How am I dismissive of our clubs achievements.?? I don't think winning the league or just qualifying for the CL is an achievement.. Its a must. I dont believe Lennon can bring us any further therefore I believe it is time for change...

Surely the occasion called for it.

I know I was going * tonto, and I usually greet every goal enthusiastically but games like that are extra special.

You've just realised you've reached the pinnacle of club football competition, how could pride not enter the equation?

I greeted every goal against Juve like that back in 2001, even though we were out. Pride that we were competing on the biggest stage of them all.

Games like that and CL qualifiers are the pinnacle for us just now and I * love each and every one of them.

As long as the manager keeps negotiating those ties he can * my wife for all I care.

Do you think Lennon is the man to provide it though? I don't think he is personally. I'd much rather we went for a young manager with more positive views on how the game should be played.

Positives like getting the pish ripped out of us by some Kazakh No marks, getting pumped by the team that sits 13th in Seire A, having the heaviest group stage defeat in CL history and the horrendous footballing performances ala Amsterdam? The only positive is playing well at CP v Barça which was far outweighed by the game at the Nou Camp

Going back to years gone by comparing stats with old managers whom managed during times which are not comparable with now would be one example. Using beating teams like Karagandy as massive achievements is another.

I'd have to say, I do think he is the man to provide it.

Do I agree with his tactics/style/comments etc all the time? No chance.

Simple matter is, when we play great football we do it well, we just need to be producing it far more on the park than we are now.

I believe the management set up is a good one right now, and we do currently have a young manager with positive views on how the game should be played.

Well your opinions wrong. You're honestly being as bad as anyone else just by posting things like this. Moaning about being insulted whilst at the same time insulting people. Just discuss the topic without the pointless insults and childishness. This thread was at one point good.
