If it was major money, I'd build myself a house in Fife and a house in Donegal. Buy myself a bike and maybe a car. Sort out my close family and friends and bank the rest. I'd maybe volunteer but would I * be working if I never had to. I'd like to set up a charity locally, providing food and education to the poor

Invest - Yes its the only sensible thing to do. Save yourself a fortune in tax as well. There is lots of different ways to invest but I wouldn't buy a pub nor invest in a football team for a return.

Yes, Family and some close friends would be looked after.

Yes I would donate more to Charity (allowing them to claim the tax relief as well).

I probably would continue to work but I would cut back to about 6 months a year.

We should always be looking to learn something new, so that wouldnt change for me.

I'm fortunate as I have the house I like. I would probably buy the houses my friends and family live in for them all. Am not really a car person so I doubt I would rush out and buy more exotic cars either. Buy a Boat/helicopter - nope waste of money, if you feel the need for these you can easily rent them.
I would probably spend 6 months per year traveling.

No I would not go public, then again I never last time either .. :giggle1:

Would only take one great great great grandson to sniff it up his nose and gamble away the rest whilst being the biggest * boss ever.

I’d more than likely be deid within 6 months rendering the lavish purchases null and void. Sorting out family and friends would be done first though without a doubt.

I’d also attempt to go through a bucketlist of festivals/events/places if I could.

Buy a big isolated farm in the middle of nowhere. Convert a barn to a central heated & air conditioned rave house, lights, lazers, smoke & bubble machines, top sound system & rig, poles for the dancers. Annex for kitchen, showers & bedrooms for crashers.
Top venue for friends & free weed & mdma all weekend, cos 24hrs just isn’t enough!

    Your all invited.

    32million,
Ten in to a good interest account, just in case.

Buy somewhere nice in Glasgow, nowt too expensive, just somewhere to call home.
A fancy place in Spain and somewhere in the states.
A decent car at each home.
That wouldn't even be the first 2 million of the 22 left.

20 million, I'd make sure my family was sorted, pay off their houses and bills etc then give them a lump sum that means they wouldn't need to work again if they didn't want to.

    Call that 15million left.

Would spend a year following the F1 being in the pit lane etc - this point any idea of staying low profile is out the window.
Would spend the next 2-5 years touring the world, using the 3 houses as base points if I wanted to.

Then, when there is perhaps only 5-10 million left of the 22, I'd drop a bit of money in to Celtic, so I can get my name attached to the club and do a bit of good for the club we love.
Probably then look to upgrade everything in my life to the high end, see out the remainder money with family and friends then live off the interest of that ten million we banked about 8 years previous. Moving between the three homes for various times if the year.

Pretty much anything that is speculative to any extent, going to provide you with a stream of income, or even just aimed at retaining value, would be deemed investment.

The very first thing I would do? Make my way to the nearest airport and go wherever I want to go. You would need some time alone, or with very close friends/family to properly figure out how to handle a big win. Pretty much everything you’ve ever wanted to do is now doable, and everything you’ve not wanted to do is avoidable, so you’re basically trying to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life.

Id chuck my boring job but in the medium and long term I would need some sort of work to keep me going. Maybe work for or start a charity foundation or buy a house with a massive garden and write books. Buy a small football team maybe. Something to keep my brain ticking over. Obviously look after friends and family.

Short term id probably take a bunch of friends on a massive vegas jolly. Pick some big concerts or sports events across the world to visit each year. And take the family on a round the world trip.

Besides holidays day to day luxuries wouldnt be any different to what I enjoy now so I would make it last now problem. Im far too dull to be able to * away £35m.
