    A gauge of what is a bigger achievement has to be how it would be celebrated, surely?

    If I were to pop my clogs the day after Celtic won a European trophy I would die a happy man.

    There’s a reason Celtic is lauded worldwide for 1967 and not 1974.

    Europa cup is mickey mouse compared to what the European Cup was then, even the Cup Winners Cup was better, it's not the best teams in the europe it's teams that got knocked out the Champions League or didn't even qualify for Champions League.

    Utter nonsense.

    You have allowed the English arrogance to blind you from the facts. It’s been diluted slightly from the UEFA cup but it is vastly, vastly, superior to the old Cup Winners Cup.

    The Europa League is designed as the 2nd tier Champions League and the teams in it highlight that fact.

    I agree with you regarding what the bigger achievement is, but I couldn't bare losing the league to Sevco.

    Cup Winners Cup was exciting as *. Europa is not same, it's got worse year after year hence the revamps. If we won it yeah I be happy, but It's not even in the same universe as what the Lisbon Lions achieved winning what was then the European Cup the best of the best the Europa is so far from that.

    Started reading this thread believing 100% the ten was the right choice.
    It turned very quickly into a great read with some excellent arguments. Factual & personal and very well put across.

    I'm unsure now. If it were the champions league I'd defo say Euro cup.

    I get the argument put across that the outsiders looking in will say it's bad one team is so dominant. That argument can usually be countered with the current trend of Bayern, Juve & PSG and others.
    The term glass ceiling used to describe Scotland is also understandable but to me the league should be what matters most and should be the goal, champions of your country & entry to Europe.

    Living in Dublin, domestic bragging rights isn't really an issue for me as I don't come into contact with those horrible * but a Euro cup win surrounded by EPL *?
    Does it essentially come down to bragging rights, domestic if we win ten or European if we win Europa? Does the Europa give us any bragging rights considering the disdain it's look upon by the English club supporters? (The reason I mention them is because Irish & Scottish press fills a lot of its sport pages with EPL crap & unfortunately will have it's say on any Euro achievement, belittling it I'd imagine). Surrounded by EPL fan boys in this country. I despise the EPL and current format of the champions league. I'd love to stuff a Euro cup win right up their hole.

    Still leaning towards the 10 but not as convinced as I was when I began reading the thread.

    Europa league for me and it’s not even close. As Paul pointed out the celebrations would be much bigger, It’s a far far bigger achievement, no one outside Scotland could give a * if we won 10 in a row.

    10 IAR Would give us bragging rights over the Huns but so would winning the Europa .

    Europa league. Bet the majority of the people saying 10 grew up in the hun 9iar years and want some sort of revenge. No one outside scotland would give a * if we won 20iar never mind 10. A european cup win would put us on the map and force people to take us and scottish football more seriously, also automatic qualification into the group stages of the champions league so an extra 30mill on top of the winnings from europa.
