Would you give up the league title this year (and in effect 10-in-a row) to win the Europa League this season?

Or if thats a little to obvious would you give up the league to be in the final of Europa League with a chance of winning it?

I think most (myself included) would take the Europa League win over 10-in-a-row, but im on the fence about the 2nd option. Push came to shove id rather win the scottish league and keep the ten alive rather than potentially win nothing.

    All hypothetical of course :50:

10 in a row takes 10 years full of constant and great performances. that's a monster achievement.

The European League however is nothing compared to the Champions League and most people don't even care about it. I mean, who won it 7 years ago? 2 years ago? No one remembers

Not to mention the wnkfest in the media here with them winning the title with their 55 pish! i dont want to see those * win a title ever again in this country, i would rather Hibs, hearts or Aberdeen won a title than they *!

Given them a chance to even be in UCL qualifers is a disgusting thought!

Is it a lucky guess because they seem to have won it multiple times within the last decade or so? :p Honestly, I haven't watched an Euro League final game in many years and couldn't really name the last 5 winners.

The Champs League is a different ball game however.

Naw. I just remember they won it three years in a row until they started giving a CL place for it and in that one they beat Liverpool. ( in Switzerland) No difference from one European final to another for me. If Celtic aren't in it and I've no had a bet on it neither really holds much interest to me.

Would rather win 10 in a row.

Incidentally, I much prefer the Europa League to the Champions’ League these days. CL is a farce.

If it wasn’t for the £30m boost for qualifying I’d happy wave goodbye to the CL. That Zenit game was the best game at parkhead in years. Apart from a few shock results against teams like City, and getting a decent result against the pot 3/4 teams, it’s not competitive anymore. On the off chance we quality we will almost certainly get our * handed to us in the last 16 anyway like Porto, Besiktas and Basel, who are far better than us.

Even the teams we are working to be as good as are getting embarrassed now. Apart from Atletico and Napoli I don’t think any EL team would do us that bad

Actually a more difficult question than one would first think.

Now, I for one would NEVER give up on a League title - wouldn't care if our top league was full of Alloa, East Fife etc - we're a club that wants to dominate domestically.

Although, since our continued efforts at club evolution, winning the Europa League would be a once in a lifetime achievement and sight for some of us, plus you'd have the added incentive of AUTOMATIC entry to the CL the following season - guaranteed £30m+, and dodging 6 qualifying games.

Don’t even think Atletico would hammer us, to be honest.

Absolutely mental responses IMO. A Europa League win for Celtic would be the greatest achievement in the lifetime of any Celtic fan born after May 1967.

If you were to guage the reponse of the fans to that versus the response to clinching the 10 it won't even begin to compare. Seville proved to the World what it would mean to Celtic fans to win a European trophy.

Well, how many Celtic fans were DEVASTATED at not winning the league that year? Not many, considering still to this day reaching the final in Seville is deemed by many as one of the greatest seasons in our history.

There's an argument for both sides of the coin, but I'd be wanting it to land on the side that finished with us holding a European trophy.

Must say im surprised that most would prefer the 10 to be honest. Outside scotland no one would bat an eyelid as we are so dominant, but winning the europa League the world would sit up and take notice.

Winning a European trophy for me would eclipse the 10 hands down. I mean we could win 10 titles in 11 years and have a european trophy to boot....hypothetically.
