I've seen that Celtic only sell away Champions League/Europa League tickets to STH's that have attended x amount of previous European away games. So how can you first legitimately get an away ticket then, if you've not been to any before?

I'm just wondering for next season that's all.

Away allocation is sometimes made available to all ST's and the only way to build up your own rep is to take any offered. Officially you have to show proof of travel paid for before receiving anything but there are ways around that.

Sometimes the official travel criteria is less than that given to others so that is another way, albeit much more expensive way of getting on the European aways ladder.

The amount of tickets allocated varies of course depending on who and where the opposition are from.

It will all depend on the away allocation. Priority is given to those who have attended X amount of away games. eg Last 10 of 15 etc. The higher the demand the higher the criteria. Before Celtic will issue an away ticket though you have to prove you have your travel booked.

That said sometimes Celtic Travel will offer away day flights / trips with no criteria other than being a ST holder. Expensive, but for some the only option.

Many go to the away games and chance picking up tickets over there or use online ticketing sites. The latter though can also be expensive and you run the risk of being conned.

Another method is to use Facebook and try arranging to buy / exchange with the away fans. Again eg you get them tickets for our home game and they return the favour.

Until we get into the group stages and know the draw there's no point really trying to do anything. That said once the draw is made and dates confirmed airline flight costs will sell out or rocket in price within a few hours, sometimes even quicker.

Is the Europa League support/bandwagon just as hectic for getting tickets or are some less keen on going down the war torn, Easter European stadium route in the middle of nowhere these days?

Again mate it all depends on the opposition. Where teams are from easy to get to countries that offer cheap flights etc the demand is always high and harder to get tickets. For far off Eastern Europe demand is not so high but in far flung places our allocation isn't always that high so again can be hard to get tickets for also.

Thats the road to get on the bandwagon then isn't it. Basically getting to those harder to get to places to accumulate credits and catch up with everybody else, allocation permitting as you say.
