Started watching this again, amazing programme. Completely forgot it was an ITV production. Makes you laugh eh, pay all that money towards the BBC's license yet they haven't, in my opinion done anything nearly as high quality as Hornblower. Well maybe Taboo is the only thing production wise and quality.

On topic, any fans? Really love this * shame they cancelled it, made me want to go watch Waterloo (1970) again what a movie.

Watched it when I was younger.

I actually remember taping it and then skiving school just to watch it one time:giggle1: Never realised it ran over 5 years.

Neither did I, never even knew it got cancelled. My maw always watched it and I'd watch it with her now'n again. Think the last episode I saw was him meeting some french lassie so I never seen the final episode/episodes.

he was more believable as hornblower than when he played a superhero with an american accent. good show but i'm a sucker for most historical war dramas

Me too man, should check out North and South (the Patrick Swayze one) its about the American Civil war, kind of like a gone with the wind type thing with the romance plot to it as well but don't let that put you off it is fantastic. Assuming you haven't seen it.

What superhero did he play? A shame great actors have to take those ridiculous superhero roles.
