[PS4] Horizon Zero Dawn

Machines are getting bigger by the hour. Having real trouble with some of them and I'm only playing it on normal. Level 17 now.

 

Nail on the head. The Witcher 3 and Far Cry 3 are two of my favourite games, and I loved the Tomb Raider reboot. Horizon definitely feels like a blend of them all.

I'm absolutely loving this game so far. The only thing annoying me is the lack of fecking fox skins. Killed about a dozen foxes and only got one pelt.

 

Bought it, loving it.

 

Started to hit this point last night. There's quite a few I've just turned the other direction and ran like the Devil was chasing me.

Only a couple of hours til I can go back home and play again!

 

Sank a disgusting number of hours into this. Already one of my favourite ever games. The more reveals about the plot and the past the better it gets.

I highly suggest going to the vantages dotted throughout the map. Gives you a little glimpse into the past.

 

Loving the game glad I've given it a go and barely put it down.

 

Scanned and encountered every type of machine just now.

 

Got a few games to get out the way, but this does sound fab.

 

You'll love it mate. It's not quite as good as The Witcher 3, but it's up there.

Not sure how correct those figures are.
Don't even know how many hours I have played it myself (How do you keep track of this). Am at 34.57% and finished 11 main quest missions. Still have two tall necks to climb at this point too.

 

That's not super long, relative to some of the games in the past few years (I'm looking at you, The Witcher 3).

It shows how many hours you've put in when you Manual Save.

 

41.5 hours. Must have counted the times I fell asleep at 3 in the morning.......I hope.

 

What level are you now? I'm still a lowly level 21. Gonna have a good few hours on it this afternoon and box of some quests.

 

Am close to level 23 atm. Keeping myself busy with side quests mostly as I have the feeling I getting to the end of the main story way too soon.

 

Dont wana play this untill i manage to upgrade to the Pro!

Spoiler: Deathbringer

The first Deathbringer (biggest enemy machine there is to my knowledge, if it ain't I don't want to know yet. ) was too easy as it couldn't move and was kind of disappointed when I managed to kill it off so fast by just standing in one corner (Just had to eliminate the bandits first) firing at his weapons/legs.

Now I have to kill off a moving one. Problem now is I get shot of the balcony immediately, so don´t have enough time to kill the bandits off first. Can´t really hide behind stuff for long as the deathbringer can destroy it all after a couple of shots. Turned it off after dying 7 times. Was so close in nearly killing it on my first try, but it´s not happening right now.

 

Hit Level 50 yesterday and I think I've done most, if not all of the side quests & errands. I'm pretty near the end of the main quest now as well.

I think I was quite over-levelled at that point, so this might not be too much help...

Do you have the Shadow Hunter Bow?

If you do, use the Hardpoint Arrows instead of the default Hunter Arrows or the Fire Arrows; They do a lot more damage.

If you can, invest in the skill that lets you fire three arrows at once. Combined with the Hardpoint Arrows, it destroys most of the Deathbringer's weapons in a couple of shots and kills regular bandits in one.

If you have a chance, either use the slow time to kill the bandits (the multi arrow shot makes it easier) or throw down explosive tripwires to kill a few at the one time.

My tactic was to was to roll, slow time, fire a shot or two at the Deathbringer, then repeat.

Try and take out its machine guns as soon as possible, it forces it to use the rockets which are easier to dodge.

Shooting off one of the vent things on its legs causes it overheat and stop attacking (it will keep overheating from this point onwards)

When it stops to cool down after overheating, it exposes more cooling rods & vents which can be shot for good damage and it also causes it overheat more frequently

The Deathbringer seems to struggle to hit you if you hang near the back of the room next to the metal structure (the left side in particular)

Thanks mate. Level 24 myself will keep this in mind next time I'll try it. Have the 2 arrows perk right now, so going to try it with that.
