    The first Wave of Christmas Adverts are already taking over the old TV Screens,it seems we have 2 lots of Christmas,the November one,then the December one:56:

    Also Shops have already got the adverts out and even some have decorations out,i have even seen a couple of houses with the full works!:31:

    It is what it is. Its the times were living in. Major depression for people running upto and on xmass. Suicide rates will rise and anti-ds from the doctors through the roof. I dislike the whole run up to it and not to fussed about the whole week. when it arrives, i cant wait to get back to work. What i hate more though, valentines day. No sooner you get xmass spending over then your hit with that *! :triplomur

    Anyway cidermaster, HAPPY XMASS! :rofl::rofl:

    I love Christmas, I honestly can't wait until December so I can get my tree up!

    I was building up Christmas trees last week in work, it's put me right in the mood for Christmas songs :52:

    I work in retail and from September onwards is Just a downward spiral of Christmas that just gains more momentum.
    And some of the * you see coming in is ridiculous.

    Ah well.....hopefully be Christmas down under next year.

    Love Christmas Day having a laugh and spending time with the family but I despise the run up to it.

    As @leeso-ardoyne says the pressure it places on some families is ridiculous. It's completely distorted the meaning of Christmas.

    My aunt's a social worker and was dealing with a family were both parents were drug addicts. She had been building up a bond with the child until after Christmas she started being completely off with her. She then found out that they had put all the Christmas presents under the tree then sold them for a hit and told the wean that the social workers came and stole the presents. Awful :54:

    Used to have that outlook myself but now I just hate the action and the impact it can have on others. I don't think anyone sets out in life to become one, some just fail to deal with life's struggles and get caught up in it.

    Hating them doesn't help anyone really. If you try get to the root cause of it and lift people out of the addiction then everyone benefits. The addict, their family, their children and society.

    Look at Russell Brand for an example. He's not everyone's cup of tea but he does a lot of good work for families being evicted, other drug addicts etc.

    Wow, missed this post, that's despicable thing to do to your own child.....Although I understand that addiction can make people do things that they wouldn't ever dream of doing had they been sober.

    Heart goes out to any kid who grows up in that environment.

    Try and look beyond the person they are right now and consider there might have been a traumatic event or a culmination of several that put them on that path. I get people's attitudes to them when it's your house being burgled or possessions being stolen but I don't think hating them or considering them all as lost causes is the best course of action.
