Aye fed up hearing folk moaning about no getting him in January, when we might just not have been able to get him. It's pretty much guaranteed that we are in talks with a different player and have been for a while.

He's said he has made his choice, didn't say which team but the team is in either England, Germany or Belgium so that rules is out.

His quote was mistranslated it was actually Britain not England that he said, take from that what you want

Believing that here's coming here is wishful thinking. He'll be away to an EPL or German team for more money. The fact we're breaking our transfer record to take Roberts on a permanent shows we don't really plan on taking another winger that will break the bank

How does that show that at all? Managers and scouting teams have contingency plans for if certain deals don't pan out. The fact that Celtic are willing to break the bank for Roberts is irrelevant to whether or not we're willing to for other players, at this point in time.

Onyekuru has already stated that he has agreed terms with the team he's going to. Why would we spend a further £6.8 Million on another winger?

It's not a contingency plan, its common sense.

Who is to say we only want 1 winger? We have Sinclair and Forrest we need another 2 gms isn't good enough, so 2 wingers for a 60 game season nah we need 2 wingers this summer

We also need a central defender, play maker midfielder, striker and possibly right back or a back up for Tiernay if Izzy leaves. Why would we pay £10+ million on one position?

Well say we get who he has been linked with.

Izzy has already said Brendan has activeated the 1 yr option on his contract.

He has been linked with solanke and Lucas both on frees. So that's a midfielder and striker taken care of.

Why right back we have 4 on the books - lustig, gambo, janko and ralston.

    CB yes will be needed.

But say we did spend £10m on Roberts and onyekuru get the proposed £5m back from van dijk yer laughing

As much as I want(ed) this boy, I have complete faith in Rodgers do get the right players in. Not worried at all, as good as this guy looks, I believe we will have someone just as exciting lined up.

Maybe even Roberts himself...who knows. Interesting few months ahead.

    Belgium Newspaper HLN this morning:
Onyekuru seems to have a personnel agreement with Anderlecht. Eupen want 8M euros and 70% of the sell-on. This is even to much for Anderlecht who would like to cut the price to 5-6M. But if we can believe the newspaper, they will come to an agreement.

"Tot slot is Anderlecht is zo goed als rond met Eupenspits Henry Onyekuru. Op clubniveau belooft het wel een lastiger dossier te worden. Eupen vraagt voor zijn topschutter (22 goals) een transfersom van 8 miljoen voor 70 procent van de transferrechten."

That's not fact, tha't speculation and hope. And even if it were fact, the ball is in City's court, there is no guarantee will even consider selling. We NEED to have options, whether this guy is still one of them is a different matter.

70% sell on, Jesus wept, I call bull on that might as well say he's still a eupen player even though he'd be playing in Anderlecht colours.

That is like the whole part rent, part but nonsense you see on me build homes, you buy 30% of it but the 70% is owned by someone else.

No excuse for not splashing massive cash. We have it. We should be spending £10mil on a single player and several million on others if we choose to.

Exactly, highly doubt any club would accept a 70% sell on clause.

Yeah you'd be lucky if any club would agree to even 25% in fairness.
