Somecunt get on the phone to Craig Levein and find out if Jason Day or Adam Scott have a European granny.

I'd love to see Jimenez get the captaincy.

Biggest American points total in 35 years. 17-11 is a humping to be fair.

make westwood the captain, as this way he wont be playing, guy has never done anything of note yet still gets picked over guys who should have been there before him.

Clarke could have done a better job however, i don't think it would have made much different who was playing. That was the strongest american side for years, at home with a hostile crowd. Always going to be extremely difficult. Still have no idea how Westwood was picked over Knox.

I would like to see Jiminez as next captain, more than deserves it. You can see him all ready ryder cup in one hand glass of red in the other and puffing away on a cigar after winning it back!

Noticed today comments from McIlroy and Rose about pin placement and how 'easy' the course was, like a pro-am setup. Looking back I did wonder how, Fowler, for example, managed to recover so well from some poor shots.

Ah well. Let them enjoy it, as @jordan_ said above, they were a strong team and it was quite an atmosphere for them to feed off.

It was all to play for well past half way on the last day, the points total doesn't tell the full story.

It was neither a humping or a brass neck.

Whatever way you dress it up, 17-11 is a thumping. At no point yesterday did the Europeans really look like pulling it off, and it was comfortable for the Americans.

No they really did and the media and the players all believed they could as well because, like I said, they were well in it until there was about less than an hour to go.

The vast majority of the games swung on the odd point, it most certainly was not a humping.

It was indeed a good win for them, but i agree, it could easily have swung differently.

They needed that win. Something i never thought id say about an American team.

After Arnie dying last week, and Willets brother's comments, (which were brilliant, :56:but incredibly badly timed)they had all the inspiration they needed.

Westwood was a cert. He is best mates with Clarke. He has played his last Ryder Cup though, unless he has a major revival.

There wasn't any point on Sunday when another Medinah looked on the cards and it was something like that the Europeans needed. All the big putts were being made by the Americans.

At one point the projected score was dead level?

The Americans did hole all the big putts but there was, without a doubt, a feeling a comeback was on the cards.

For Europe to really make a game of it, they had to win at least 3 or the first 4 games out. To lose two of them pretty much killed off the contest in my opinion. It was always going to be a struggle to win a lot of the games in the bottom half.

Decent lineup for the Dunhill and I'm off work this week. Happy days, tomorrow at Carnoustie sees 6 of the Ryder Cup team play.

For those that don't know, it's free entry apart from St Andrews on Sunday :50:

It was always going to be a struggle regardless because of the cushion the US had built in the afternoon of day 2 but considering the margins there is no way that can be deemed a humping.
