I would have Sammy on the left wing every day of the week over Sinclair in Europe. Sammy was far more effective imo.

Wasnt his biggest fan. His end product in general was poor but he did score a few big goals for us. Would take Sinclair left winger over him everyday of the week.

You would imagine. That or he is mentally unstable. Third option is the lowest factor and surely he would be posting in another fan forum.:50:

Sammy did have that one season when he was absolutely brilliant on the left wing. Even against Juventus he put the ball on a plate for hooper. He would just drop the shoulder and whip it in with his left.

Problem was he didn't want to play out wide. He could've been great playing that role but wanted to stay central and * about too much.

He had all the tools but things like that held him back.

It is trolling. But poor trolling.
I liked Sammy, but his time has come and gone with us.
Sinclair is an upgrade on Sammy. I think even he would say that.

That one season in the champions league (can't mind the year) he was literally unplayable, that knock on with a drop of the shoulder then he was off like a big beautiful stallion galloping through the fields of freedom with his hair flowing in the wind like mesmerising waves crashing on the beach, enough to bring a tear to your eye as the beauty of it all was just too much...

Unfortunately sammy being sammy 9/10 with these runs he also seemed to wear horse blinkers with loads of options in front of him, players making runs left right and centre screaming for the ball and then eventually he would just run into a crowd of defenders and lose possession.

Let's just remember the good moments.

Agree he was unplayable on his game in Europe but I wouldn't like us to go back to that type of football. He was an out ball. No full back was beating him in the air.

FORMER Celtic hero Georgios Samaras has moved to Turkish second tier club Samsunspor after a disastrous six-month spell in Spain.

The 32-year-old Greek international was hailed as the saviour of Real Zaragoza when he signed in February and thousands of fans turned up at the airport to welcome him.

But he managed just one solitary start for the Spanish second division club and was quietly allowed to leave to move to Turkey.

Samaras’ career has nosedived since leaving Celtic in 2014 and he’s made just 19 starts in three nomadic years since leaving Glasgow.

He spent six years at Parkhead and won four titles with the Hoops, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup winners medal.

He moved onto unsuccessful spells at West Brom and Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal before opting to continue his career in the States to play for Rayo OKC from Oklahoma City.

However, the club went bust at the end of last year and released all their players which meant that Samaras was a free agent.

His latest spell in Spain didn’t work out and he will be hoping to resurrect his career in Turkey with ambitious Samsunspor.

Manager Alpay Ozalan said: “We are signing a quality player with a big reputation, who will be a huge success for us I am sure.”

You're at it again.Sammy scored 48 goals in 6 seasons with us,Sinclair has scored half that in his first season,i know which one id have on the wing. That'll be the most effective one eh.

As a few have said was never a big Sammy fan.

Loved the club, but you have to deliver and more often than not he didn't deliver. Few good memories but more frustrated ones tbh.

He played his part and was unplayable on his day. A big game player also, teams double and trippled him in our 13/14 campaign and at that time Lennon had no other ideas/options than Sammy so he became much less effective there than a year before. Domestically he became more consistent in his final two years here imo.

Basically all his goals for us from past to present.

Suffered a horrific, worst-of-his career injury not long after leaving us. Only moved to the US because it was there he was getting urgently-needed back surgery. Hard to recover from that.

Our 4th highest ever scorer in European football and probably my favourite ever player not named Henrik Larsson.
