I think we should play the same team that we played against Motherwell actually. Sammy should come off the bench for this one.

 

He usually starts central though and moves wide, which drags the defenders out. Not start wide and move central. Sammy tends to just stay wide and drift in when he gets the ball, what Stokes does is drag defenders outbthe way, creating gaps in the backline.

Dont think we should change a winning formula to suit him.

 

we cant play the way we did against hearts and motherwell against barca though can we?

 

I actually wouldn't start Sammy tonight, he has done nothing recently to deserve a start. Bring him on as a sub later in the game, he could stretch Barcas defence.

 

I would give it a go. What have we to lose? That team could also play defensively.

 

I wouldt even have him on the plane..useless git and I would have Silly Brown on the bench.He had cost us big time in this campaign.

Bit difficult to get the ball for one. We should approach the game with a more cautious version of that type of football.

Izzy not being available is a mjaor blow as well.

 

Brown is our best midfielder by a distance. I am of the opinion we'd still be in this if he had played every game.

 

It would be interesting to see how we play in Europe without Sammy and i don't think he's any good in midfield. In a game like this we can't have too many attacking midfielders, we need the playmakers, the passers. Ledley and Brown the freedom to go out and express themselves, otherwise Ledley plays defensive midfield and he can't get into the box.

The team that played against Motherwell and Hearts are capable of playing defensively also. I would play the same team as we did against Hearts, and if Izaguirre is out, then put Matthews in at left back. He is needing game time, and a meaningless game is ideal for that in my opinion. I would try and get the ball down and play when we do have it tonight though. But we can still sit in and contain when we don't. The team we had against Hearts is ideal for it I think.
