Discuss George Baldock in the Transfer Rumours area at TalkCeltic.net.
Are there no right-backs in the rest of the world?
Probably but I think people underestimate the damage that Congerton’s done to our scouting. We’re down to the bare bones here, it’s when you start working on the knowledge of those already at the club, which is largely British based.
There is only 3 right backs in the UK to be fair
Probably just putting 2 and 2 together after the Tommy Smith fiasco.
The main word their is “could” in other words they don’t have a clue!
I rate Baldock quite highly. I’d be happier with him than Smith and I’d imagine he’ll come cheaper.
Is Stephie O Cup tied for Europe?
You know its happening!
Am sure the rules changed to allow players who play in qualifiers can play in group stages if they change teams
Hopefully we find out the price they're looking for and put in an opening offer of 50% of it, before going up in £10k increments until they accept then.
Or until another club, probably english, just pays the asking price.
Don’t think this will happen. We looked at him before Stacey and Smith and for some reason didn’t pursue him.
Don’t think Sheffield Utd want to sell.
That’s exactly what it was they didn’t want to sell but things change
Have they signed another RB since?
I don’t think anything significant has changed at their end therefore still can’t see this one progressing.
100% hope I’m proved wrong
Don’t think so mate tbh they want to offer him a bigger deal!
It will be Stephen O’Donnell and it will be how it’s a great Scottish player and knows the city
A big Meh again for me.
I'd probably look at the other hundreds of RBs available first.
Toljan had an impressive CV, and I don’t really remember seeing a negative reaction to his signing. But he was * gash. Just because players on the continent are cheaper doesn’t mean they are better, although I don’t want Baldock either.
I don't think anyone suggested that.
The fact Toljan didn't work out shouldn't stop us from looking abroad.
While he had a reasonable CV I'd rather we - for the most part - went for guys whose career was on an upwards trajectory. When we go for those who aren't cutting it at other clubs it usually doesn't work out for us eg. Compper, Burke, Gamboa, Pukki, Boerrigter etc.
