Thought we could do with one of these as I wasn't sure there was one.

    What is everyone playing?

Anyone getting some new stuff for Christmas, looking to get a new GPU and RAM myself. Not sure what GPU though, me and Senna already had a discussion about this but I am still not 100%.

What set-up is everyone currently running?

New GPU is on the Christmas list as the one I'm rocking although quick is now severely lacking.
Looking at an R9 270X or a GTX 760. Will come down to money as the 270X is about £40 cheaper for not a lot less performance. So will probably ask for that.

    Currently have
Gigabyte z77, i5 3570k, gtx 280, 8gb ram. Recently bought a new 24" LG monitor as well - I was using our bedroom telly so I can now watch that again :smiley-laughing002:

Also thinking of building my daughter a mini PC based around an AMD A10 as she plays Minecraft on mine! Will be a little bit down the road though.

Ordered a PC the other day.

    It's specs are:

    i7-4770
    16GB RAM
    2TB HDD

Just need to add a GTX 760 so it's fully fit for gaming.

Dammit Senna, I thought you were recommending the GTX 660 and you aren't even getting it now?! :smiley-laughing002:

    I am currently running -
    Asus P8H77-V-LE
    i5 3570k
    MSI AMD Radeon 6670
    4GB RAM

Upgrading GPU and RAM for xmas, hopefully.

I was but a lot has come out since then! :icon_mrgreen:

If this Mantle thing does what it says then these R9 cards are amazing value.
    But we shall see!

I would recommend the 270X or GTX760 instead of the 660.
Both better cards and in that sweet spot of bang for buck.

Got a GTX 780 from a 580 last month or so, Love Shadowplay by Nvidia click of a button I can record amazing moments ingame, Best of all is you get no lag doing so!

Going to get the Herman Miller Aeron chair for the PC, Expensive as * though so i'll be going second hand.

Thinking about getting a new sound system for the PC aswell, Logitech Z906 or the Edifier S730.

New monitor either 144hz or a bigger resolution display, Will end up going 144hz most likely so it makes the game smoother.:50:

Edit: Maybe another SSD for all my games on steam... always full.

Could anyone tell me how to know what soundcards will work with my PC?

My audio doesn't work on my Mobo, and have been using a 2.0 external USB soundcard for a while but want to buy a internal one.

Bought one off ebay a while back but it doesn't work.

Go on the website PC part Picker and select your mobo. Will then filter out stuff that's incompatible.
    Easy peasy :icon_mrgreen:

Oh and watch out if your board takes PCI or PCI express sound cards. You will be able to tell by the size and Google :smiley-laughing002:

I was trying to hold off playing Bioshock Infinite until i got mine. But couldn't resist any longer. Weak-willed * that i am :smiley-laughing002:
Still looks good in DX10 and this old card runs it at about 40-50fps on high. This thing must have been a beast when it first came out :smiley-laughing002:

Anyone ever used Dabs before? They had the GPU I was wanting so it was bought, with the message (Delivered within three working days).

After about three days the site then change the order to saying that they didn't even have it and were waiting for stock from a supplier, that was six days ago now. * ridiculous.

I have used them once. No problem here.
Did you pay by credit/debit card? If so ring them up and ask them where the card is, if they start talking * ask for a refund. If they say no, go to the bank/card company and they will refund you until they get the money back.

And if they do send you a card by accident.... Deny all knowledge.
    Crossfire FTW :icon_mrgreen:
