Yes, but the difference is, they are all top players. Tadic and Blind were signed essentially in the prime of their career. Huntelaar for his experience and quality as a back up. Schone has been their for years, so doesn't really fit in with those 3.

Like I said, I get your thinking. If we were bringing back Wanyama, Van Dijk or Dembele when they were in their early 30's then * aye, of course. Guys who have went and done something with their career. Hooper has done very little since leaving us and is on the way down.

Regarding Mulgrew, I fecking hope not! But I wouldn't be too shocked if Lenny gets the job.:fear:

We need a striker that will come in and compete with Edouard.

Not someone who can’t get a game ahead of Steven Fletcher.

Ahh, so you made the Mulgrew thing up to have an extra point?

Like I said mate, you need to start somewhere, Schone I’ve put in because he’s an older experienced head they’ve kept in for that reason.

I want an older head at the back next to Ajer and an older, experienced head up top. He won’t start over Eddy so then we need one in around the squad.

A young, exciting right back, a young exciting left back in Tierney and a young exciting centre back in Ajer. My old head at the back would be Victor Ruiz who’s available on a free.

See if we also get a young exciting left winger in, we have Shved coming in for the right... then we have Broony, McGregor, Forrest for the older heads in the midfield when we need them...

That’d be a good squad balance for me. We’d need a back up left back, Hayes does a job and I quite like them but I’d be inclined to give Church more of a chance...

If we follow the Ajax model, and that’s what I mean with that’s what people are shouting out for us to do, we can’t go in at the top level like Ajax are just now. It just doesn’t work that way, it’s a building job.

I think Eddy, Griffiths, Bayo and Hooper up top for options wouldn’t be the worst tbh.

Kolo Toure was that signing for us. Yes he had never played for the club, but he was a guy with bags of experience at the top level. Players respected and looked up to him, and could learn from him.

He came in, did a job for a short period and helped players on the training pitch.

Perfect example mate, would like somebody a tad bit younger than him in that regard but we can’t have it all I suppose.

People forgot the role he played in the invincible season.

I threw in Mulgrew's name as an example.

I'm all for getting more experienced players, so long as they are good enough. Ruiz would be, definitely.

An experienced, quality striker to give a real challenge to Eddy, or partner him, is something I think we could be doing with. Hooper to me would be a worse version of Griffiths. Griff can play the role of the experienced back up striker.

    Marcus Berg pls

We’re in agreement here. I don’t particularly want Hooper and would rather somebody like Berg (especially because the type of striker he is, is something different from the rest)

I can just see the sense behind it - if, and only if, we actually approach building for the rest of the squad with a semblance of sanity.

See all this though? For me just highlights just how * much of a charlatan that Lee Congerton is.

if we would follow the Ajax route and bring back ex players, why don’t we look at the staff side of it!

Imagine Larsson, Sutton, Hartson, Lubo wee Jackie ect......

    Bring them home!!!!!

I would take that 4 in all honesty but I think it's an overload. Even if Lennon stays we are probably likely to still go 1 up top most weeks.

3 would be enough. Unless Hooper was seriously only willing to take a wage and play now and again. Which would be the case.

That's the difficulty with keeping 4 strikers happy.

Aye but it also gives an option of moving Eddy wide as well. We’ll need to wait and see, an older head winding down there career, plugging gaps and providing experience in that kind of role sounds good to me.

People are quick to forget that Lennon signed Virgil, Wanyama and Forster, as well as Kayal, Ledley and others.

A few going into meltdown because the a total unreliable rag has published a rumour with no substance.

    Mon tae *.

He’s a banker to be our first signing if Lennon gets the job.

    I’ll always love the guy.

Much like Lennon though, that doesn’t mean I want him back.
