He has issued a 'come and get me plea' in the media stating he would jump at the chance to sign for Celtic. Article on Daily Record / Sun etc.

Would you take a punt on him as a 3rd striker? He is 31 so in terms of age you would think he still has a few years left in him. I would potentially take him on a 6 month deal with a view to 1 year extension dependent on how he does.

Would be a free agent so no fee involved.

Hard to say, he is 31 and has only hit double figures in goals 5 times (the highest being 16) and the last time he did it was 2013. Last 2 seasons he has played less than 20 matches. How fit is this guy? Is he injury prone or just dropped for being a bit *. If he didn't want that much then fine, if he wanted a fair amount which I think he would then no.

Maybe best getting him in for a look first to see what shape he’s in, but I reckon he would’ve been on a good wage at Villa and any contract he does get could be his last so might be wanting a big one.

Give him a trial then a basic contract with bonuses for games played like we did with Gordon his first season if he’s fit enough.

He’s not a huge goalscorer but plenty pace and power, not a bad 3rd choice striker.

I suspect there's a reason he is without a club. Wasn't looking all that lean in the match at the weekend there, so he'd be months off actually starting for us.

These short-term trial signings never work out well for us eg. Ljungberg, Cole, Kazim Richards, Kapo, Lassad. etc.

Griffiths and Edouard should see us through til January where we should be able to spend a bit given the Dembele cash is there (unless Lawwell eyes up another vanity project)...hopefully by then Congerton will have someone lined up (no laughing at the back please!)

This will always be my biggest fear, he was on a good contract so him and/or his agent have an inflated idea of his worth. Then again if he was on 30 plus k a week he should be well enough off to accept less. His salary expectations were probably quite high in the summer but with no club would have to take any offer.

His legs looked liked Hayley McQueen’s on Saturday

He’d have to join Arzani at Boot Camp for six months

He's was on 55k a week at Villa he would expect big wages, I rather a younger striker, these declining name players on big wages are rarely worth it.

Depends on his physical condition but in theory aye I would.

Mainly because the thought of Christie as our back up striker gees me the ultimate fear.

What! They say 1 in 4 adults in the UK suffer from mental illness. I didn't realise 1 in 4 of UK adults worked in English football.

    As a striker, no.

As a back-up centre half to prevent Hendry from ever getting into the side again. Yes.

To go from essentially having Édouard as our third striker last year to agbonlahor would really emphasise what a * summer it was.

    That makes no sense?

He has a mental illness because he was earning fat stacks that he wasn't worth?
