He's 31 not that old for a goalie : "Fraser Forster is reportedly closing in on a sensational return to Celtic"..dont like the word "reportedly" ........................so will believe it when I see the inevitable pic of him and Lennie

AC Milan have that guy Gianluigi Donnarumma who's still only 20 and played near 200 games for them :67:

But anyway, the more I think about it, the more I like the signing. Hope it's not loan, but whatever, the 9 is what matters most for right now.

Last few times I’ve seen him he’s looked ropey as *. Barely played any football the last year or two as well.

If he can get anywhere close to his old form then it’s a fantastic signing. But that’s a big if.

A on form Fraser Forster he is the best goalie in the league no question!

But as a few have said that’s big if he can recapture the form!

Bain must be our for a considerable period.
Gordon knee is barely holding up.
Hazard has looked pish any time I have seen him.

Makes sense as I said reactive rather than proactive signing.

All for it if Lennon and Woods can get the best out of him again.

He's completely done, last two seasons at Derby you could see he was finished.

Said it before but if Fraser played against Cluj we went thru. He saves there goal in Romania, he saves that Penalty in Glasgow.

The big man will organise and give confidence to the defence.

    * his kicking it's no where near as bad as Gordons.

FRASER FORSTER will have a medical at Celtic today ahead of a stunning return to Parkhead.

The Scottish champions have agreed a deal with Southampton for the goalkeeper to rejoin the club he left five years ago.

Forster, 31, has been drafted in to compete for a starting place under Neil Lennon after struggling for regular football at St Mary’s.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has given the green light for Forster to leave the south coast as he has Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy as his goalkeeper options.

And Lennon has moved swiftly after Scott Bain suffered a dislocated thumb last week and left him short on cover.

Craig Gordon played against Dunfermline at the weekend but Lennon wants even more experience in his Hoops keeper department and has swooped for Forster.

Forster won three SPL titles and made his loan from Newcastle a permanent as he secured No1 status with Celtic.

But he lost his place to McCarthy during Mauricio Pellegrino’s reign at Saints and stayed as back-up under Mark Hughes and Hasenhuttl.

We have a keeper that can save penalties and considering the refs the next 2 seasons, we badly need that :56:
