Celtic have been linked with Schalke striker Franco Di Santo. The former Wigan man is being lined-up as insurance if a late bid arrives for Moussa Dembele , according to reports in Germany. The Bhoys are reported to have been scouting the Argentina striker, who has made 19 appearances for Schalke this season, as they look for back-up. Di Santo, 28, has scored 11 goals in three years at Schalke and netted 13 times in 97 appearances for Wigan. The striker has three Argentina caps and also had a spell with Werder Breman where he notched 18 goals in 51 appearances. Dembele has been linked with a move to Brighton in this window but so far no concrete offer has been made for the Frenchman. However, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to take any chances of leaving himself light.
