Get him signed up. Great piece of business. Another season ticket and champions league package sold and few quid in the bank.

Didn't like how he stated I'd manage them one day as if he puts his name in the hat that it's done and dusted the club is bigger than him and he doesn't suit the club

Nah. He'd probably bring an older and even slower Balotelli with him as well.

We seem to be getting a wee bit carried away over this.

Rodgers as been fantastic from the minute he walked in the door (or maybe since the final whistle went in Gibraltar), so anyone else probably would seem like a step down.
I personally wouldn't swap Rodgers for any other manager in world football right now, but that's thinking with the heart rather than the head.

If someone like Roberto Mancini is interested in managing Celtic, whether it was a throwaway comment or not, it's flattering. He's managed some top clubs in Italy, was a success at Manchester City and also managed one of the biggest clubs in Turkey. It's quite a CV.

I don't think his managerial style would suit us, and I think he'd want a big wage, so in this hypothetical situation I'd not be overly keen. But it's a big step up in class from guys like Owen Coyle, Steve Clarke and Malky Mackay, that's for sure.

As replacements for Rodgers go, he'd been quality. We're obviously talking 3 or 4 years down the line, but there will come a point Rodgers will want a crack at either the EPL again or somewhere like Spain and Germany and this is the sort of calibre of manager we need to replace him. As opposed to someone like Broony doing a Lennon.

Hope he's here longer than that but it is going to be a right back down to earth when we try and replace Rodgers

Chris Davies would probably be in contention, with Brown as assistant.

Mancini is full of himself nice of him to let us know he would lower himself to manage us if we improve enough to do better in the C.L.

Don't care what anyone says - Mancini is overrated.

Made hard work of winning the Serie A at times during his first spell at Inter, despite having free reign due to Juve and AC being penalised. Also had a * record in the CL, despite them spending a power.

Spent a tonne at City and nearly cocked it up.

Back to Inter, spend a power and perform *.

Brendan or Mancini - I know who I'd pick. Luckily we have the better manager.

If we are regulars in the group stages and beyond why would we want him as manager when to get to that stage it's obvious we would already have a good manager.

Very nice of him to MAYBE lower himself and come here IF we have a team capable of competing in the Champions League. Cracking attitude that.

    I'd rather have Brendan Rodgers.

I think we would all prefer Rodgers to most managers. However, it is refreshing to see managers who are world renowned talk about our club in a positive light and interest in what we are doing.

This proves we are going in the right direction and hopefully does away with the likes of (as above) Owen Coyle etc being linked with the job!

Whoever we get when Rodgers leaves is most likely going to be a reasonable step down. It's a scale. On one side you have Owen Coyle, Paul Lambert etc. The other you have Rodgers and O'Neill.

It'll be someone in the middle, unless we're absolutely flying and doing well in Europe by the time he goes.
